Okay sorry for being a dead horse but I've been waiting for my iPhone 6+ for over a month now and I'm getting tired of waiting. So my question is has a one and thinking about switching over to the Note 4? I'm toying with the idea and everyday I wait for my iPhone im losing interest am I the only one? tmobile upgraded me to the 128 silver for free and gave me credit for no down payment should I use it on the Note 4 instead? Thanks!

For me, it's all about iOS vs Android. The hardware on both devices is great.

I just prefer iOS and the Apple ecosystem. All my family and most of my friends are on iOS - communication and sharing is much easier.

That is very true! I guess only thing looking nice on the note 4 is multitasking and the screen resolution. I mean I waited this long for the iPhone i guess I'll stick with it but in my opinion ios 9 has to be amazing or I will switch.

I suppose I've never seen the benefit in splitting even a 5.5" display into smaller windows. I only pull up windows side by side when I have two monitors.

Even on my 21.5" iMac, I prefer to use the swipe gesture on the trackpad to move between full screen apps. Or I pull up pdfs and docs on my iPad to read and highlight and type on my iMac.

I can't tell a difference between my 750p iPhone 6 and my 1080p iPhone 6+, so I doubt I'd be able to find much difference in the 1440p Note 4. It's a great looking device with a great display.

But again, for me the hardware differences are negligible. And despite the multitasking in Android, I prefer other things about iOS that make it suit my needs better.

All about pros and cons. Not saying iOS is perfect and there are still a few things I'd like to see (better email attachment system, more open iCloud Drive, etc) but I prefer the simplicity and cohesiveness of iOS to Android, which is somewhat cluttered and not unified design-wise.

Though L is bringing many of my wants for Android. I still have my Nexus 5 and I'll be updating as soon as I can to check it out.

The other part is.....I still think the iPhone is the best looking smartphone out there. And TouchID is a huge deal for me hardware wise.

All very true and apple pay looks really neat ! The iCloud Drive is just a mess though Apple needs to make an App for it like Google drive does it, makes it easier and simple. I can't swtitch over to iCloud Drive until that happens sadly because of the convient factor.

Just curious what computer you use?

Mostly an all Apple household (Mac Pro, Retina Macbook Pro, Mac Muni, Apple TV). I still have an iPad so I still feel like I can experience iOS when I need to. Having said that, I've always used Google services instead of Apple's which makes it easy to incorporate Android devices.

Has anyone noticed a yellow tint on Motorola phones? I have the Droifd Turbo and a Note 4. Side by side the whites on the turbo look liek they have a yellowish tint. The Note 4 whites look whiter. Here is a side by side with the Nexus 6 and Note 4.

I noticed the exact opposite. My Moto X looked very blue compared to my iPhone and Nexus 5.

Don't forget that it's not only about a sharper display, it's also about fitting more on the display. One very useful example is that GPS apps fit much more of the map on the higher resolution display of the Note 4. I notice a marked difference using GPS apps on my N4 versus my N3.

I'm also one of those people that find split screen/multiscreen is AWESOME. You don't have to do a 50/50 split either, you can have one window smaller, one larger, etc.

I agree the iPhone is the best looking phone out there (other than the horrid 2001 style bezels though). But you have to slap on a cheap plastic case the second you leave the store, kind of negating those good looks right away. So now you have a chunky plastic phone with huge bezels, kind of takes away the thrill. I love my completely naked Note 4.

Touch ID is indeed awesome. The fingerprint sensor on the Note 4 is awful. It works well enough if you are sitting still with two hands, but god forbid you are moving, in a car, or using it one handed.

You don't have to. Never used a case with any of my phones.

I havent read this whole thread but ive seen some mention iMessage and how it is great to be using your phone and then pick up your iPad and continue the conversation.
That is great, but Hangouts does the same thing. I also use it on my Windows computer and do the same thing. I didnt see that mentioned in the first two pages.

Agree with this...... The iphone is nice looking phone..but delicate and prone to scratches. It is made of a soft metal ....aluminum. I will bet most(not all) iphone buyers put a case on it.

I have to put a case on any aluminum phone. They are just too slippery and i drop them often. Thats the reason why i dont care for an aluminum body.

I get a lot of phones as everyone here knows :p
Two phones that i had to use ZAGG covers on them was the M8 and the IP6.
Great phones but slippery as you said and very easy to scratch.

I use cases on my iPhones - true. Not all the time, but most of the time.

My cases are the leather Apple cases which look and feel great. I also use Spigen Neo Hybrid - Metal cases that have an aluminum band around the edges that are color matched to my space gray 6 and gold 6+. Look and feel great as well.

It's not only the ugly cases the iPhones end up with, it's also the increased thickness, weight, height/width, etc. Even the "nice" cases are still just ugly cases IMO.

I agree with you, that's why I haven't used a case since I had the iPhone 4, and even that was mostly because of the glass back and reception issues. My HTC One has been naked now for around 7 months and it still looks pretty good, heck even my iPhone 5S faired pretty well in the year I had it. Though I do worry some about my 6 plus because of the raised curved screen, but that's what Apple care is for.

Well hell...after all my drooling over Note 4 and Nexus 6, I ended up ordering a space grey 64gb iP6+ which I'll be picking up tomorrow :p

The Note 4 just didn't blow my mind as I had expected, even though the screen of course is stunning. And for the N6, I'm just not that in love with the look of Lollipop. Whereas iOS 8 has turned out to actually do all I want it to do since I installed it on my old 4S. Cherry on the cake is that Swype actually is great on iOS 8 too, in fact smoother on my 4S than on my Note 2. Oh, and to my even greater surprise I found that iOS widgets actually are good  The Wunderlist one is excellent and I have already started using it all the time on iPad/4S.

Also it'll just be fun in general to try the all-in Apple approach for a while, with iPhone+iPad+Mac. I'll keep having my trusty Note 2 by my side though of course, and take the opportunity now to root the crap outta that sucker. This doesn't mean that I've stopped loving Android, just that we'll have an 'open relationship' for a while
