Yeah well, for me it addresses one of my main complaints with the 3T, i.e. the camera. As I already sold my 3T a couple of weeks ago, I'll be returning to OnePlus with the 5. There just isn't much competition in good dual-SIM phones in Finland. Some manufacturers sell low-end dual-SIMs, but I don't that functionality so much that I'd live with a crappy phone for it. However, when we have a flagship grade phone with dual-SIM and a good camera, it's almost hitting the perfect phone mark for me. If they add actual waterproofing at some point, we're getting really close to that point.Meh, this is a 3T+ at best...

I'd be the first in line for that Even with two OnePlus phones a year, I'd cover it financially by skipping the latest iPhone.12 weeks time.
Introducing the OP 5T with waterproofing / wireless charging and available in blue /jk

looks like 8gb ram is here lol.
Any idea if it works on Verizon? I see it has BT 5.0.
Sure, I'll give it a try when I get mine. I hope I can get off from work early enough to make it to the pop-up store when there's still devices left. When you get yours can you test how many apps you can run without my bugbear of forced refreshing or reloading. I'm intrigued by this idea it prioritises your apps that you utilise. That could be a game changer for me if I can keep everything I do over the course of the day ready and waiting without any fuss. And with 8gb ram it shouldn't even be a factor ... I'm not bothered about gaming but normal everyday stuff that irk me every time I see a white frame being refreshed.
If that's not an issue and hopefully they haven't crippled the ram like they did with the OP3 (limiting it to closer to performance of 3gb on launch) making it somewhat redundant, then I will go ahead and order the black one 128gb myself too. I'll just sell my S8 to pay for it.
Man...i had it in my cart and about to buy....but really want to see some real life camera reviews from people here on the forum first. So for now I will wait.
@MRU Are you satisfied with the 8GB of RAM?
We won't know. The OP3 had 6gb but it's limiter was set to utilise a maximum of around 3gb (with Carl Pei saying it was designed this way to preserve battery). However this was later upped after an understandable outcry, however only to around similar limiter as other 4gb devices.
The 3T is much the same in the fact it's limiter still doesn't ever allow the device to truly utilise 6gb, with a limiter that is similar to 4gb devices (it's actually fractionally higher) ..
It will be really interesting to see if they have knocked this cap off, otherwise whether it's 6gb or 8gb you will never know a difference and the spec is merely grandstanding.
I look forward to seeing some tests and see what the Xda people discover after they extract the software to see if it is still artificially limited.

The Verge review said the 8GB helped apps install faster. : shrug :
I don't see the need for 8GB myself. I think they would have been better off keeping the higher end model at 6GB and offering it at closer to ~$500 price.
I'll be getting the 8GB model for the fact that it comes with 128GB of storage. If there were a 6GB/128GB model, I'd go for that. The Verge review said the 8GB helped apps install faster. : shrug :

LOL...that was my reaction when I watched their review. Like (minions voice)whaaaaaat ...ram doesn't help install apps faster. The dual channel UFS storage is responsible for that.Typical verge. The ram wouldn't install apps faster, it's the faster UFS storage speeds and faster CPU that would allow installation of apps faster. Sometimes the Verge are such Newbs
My god they even copied the IOS widget panel lol.
