to be fair, that was on the 3/3T as well. It's built into Oxygen OS
I'll be getting the 8GB model for the fact that it comes with 128GB of storage. If there were a 6GB/128GB model, I'd go for that.
But I did like the 128GB storage and that black is quite nice
When you get yours can you test how many apps you can run without my bugbear of forced refreshing or reloading. I'm intrigued by this idea it prioritises your apps that you utilise. That could be a game changer for me if I can keep everything I do over the course of the day ready and waiting without any fuss. And with 8gb ram it shouldn't even be a factor ... I'm not bothered about gaming but normal everyday stuff that irk me every time I see a white frame being refreshed.
If that's not an issue and hopefully they haven't crippled the ram like they did with the OP3 (limiting it to closer to performance of 3gb on launch) making it somewhat redundant, then I will go ahead and order the black one 128gb myself too. I'll just sell my S8 to pay for it.
The OnePlus 5 comes in two variants: a gray one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and a black phone with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. To be clear, our review unit is the black version with 8GB of RAM. I cannot say how much of a difference that extra RAM makes, but I can say the OP5 keeps apps in memory very well. This was a problem with the OnePlus 3 when it launched. Despite having a healthy amount of RAM, apps were closing quickly to save battery. Here, there's no such issue.
Couple of the reviews such as mobilegeeks struggled to get beyond 5 hours SOT with average of 3.5-4.5Early reviews seem to show some impressive battery life. I'll wait for real members review on XDA to gauge battery, then decide from there.
Well there's a screen protector pre-applied like there was on the 3T. I just wish that I don't have to keep on using the stock protector with the 5 like I did with the 3T just because the other options (even from OnePlus themselves were more or less crap).Couple of the reviews such as mobilegeeks struggled to get beyond 5 hours SOT with average of 3.5-4.5
Standby time and SOT are different but if standby is more important that SOT then you should be grand.
Those hoping to break the 6 hour SOT may have to wait for software updates.

I have mostly talked myself into ordering one. But I will wait for the cases to be available (hopefully next week when it officially goes on sale) as I don't want to order one without a case and screen protector.
Just saw that on recombu unboxing. Oh god can I resist the night out !!!!!Well there's a screen protector pre-applied like there was on the 3T. What comes to battery, I wasn't worrying too much about it on the 3T as Dash Charging was so wicked fast. I didn't have to find an outlet for long to get a considerable top-up. If I recall correctly, a 16-minute commuter train ride brought me something like 30% more.
they dropped software updates for oneplus 2 and this is also not going to get updates after 1 yearHere's Juan Bagnell's "real camera review". Definitely some room for improvement, hopefully some will be addressed in future software updates.
EDIT: @spriter beat me to it.

I agree.OnePlus lost me, with that baby size 3,300mAh battery. I guess they do "Settle" now. F this iPlus 5 phone.
I know 3300 for today's phones is probably pretty darn good. But if they went balls out and put the massive 4,000mAh battery in the iPlus 5 it could've been a super beast battery champion smartphone, compared to now having really good battery life, but not what they could've done, and "Never Settle". Oh well bring on the Pixel XL 2 please

OnePlus 5T coming December will have the 4,000mAh battery and SD836 processor.

As slow and crap support for devices Samsung & LG is regarding future android updates, i am not convinced OnePlus support has improved over the years. I never had utilised the OP3 (sold mine when I got it) so last OP device I had was the OPX and software support on that device was a shambles.
As close as I am to ordering, I just keep finding a valid excuse to stop me pressing the order now button.
Don't need to come to Ireland. (G6 isn't available here without importing)You're making me want to move to Ireland OnePlus seems to be the only manufacturer in the Finnish market who doesn't consider dual-SIM and a good overall device to be mutually exclusive things.
