Just curious for those of you who are getting both Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2, have you thought about ordering it separately just to get an extra Lighting cable for free? Either way it's the same price :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think it only comes with 1 Lighting cable in the iMac box?
Yes they will come with 1 lightning cable in the iMac box and I did think about getting the trackpad seperatly. I didn't though because honestly it's just going to end up in a drawer still wrapped. The odds are not more than one of them will die at the same time and if that does happen I have multiple lighting cables 2-3 feet away :D. So I'll just take my one lightning cable and put in in my desk drawer. The spare would end up in a drawer of many cables, which all go there to live out the rest of their cable lives unused.

Well, I decided to hop on this train.

This is Mac number three, my first desktop! My first MacBook Pro was a Mid-2007 15-inch, it abruptly failed when it's GPU had a meltdown. Short on notice and cash I got the only Mac I could afford, an Early 2011 13-inch MBP. It was a lateral move, but this new iMac should be a real upgrade.

Specs below are from my order confirmation. It was made late on October 15th, delivery is estimated October 26th-28th. I went big, I'm very excited!

27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display
$4,125.00
• 4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz
• 8GB 1867MHz DDR3 SDRAM - two 4GB
• 1TB Flash Storage
• AMD Radeon R9 M395X with 4GB video memory
• Magic Trackpad 2
• Magic Keyboard (English) & User’s Guide
• Accessory Kit

AppleCare Protection Plan for iMac - Auto-enroll
$139.00

Prices are from Apple in Canada (CAD), after educational discount, before tax.

That's what I did....not because of the cable though, never thought of that.
I originally placed my BTO with the Magic Mouse and got thinking after the order that I might like the trackpad for certain uses. SO, I ordered the trackpad a day later separately.

Trackpad arrives tomorrow.......Just wish I'd see some movement on my BTO iMac status.

OK, folks. I'm joining everybody on this thread. I finally bit the bullet and ordered myself a RiMac with i7, 8Gb, 512 SSD, m395X, Magic Keyboard and Trackpad2 for October 30 pick up at my closest tax free store in Salam, NH.

I'm coming from a 2012 1st Gen rMPB with the i7, 8Gb, 512 SSD so this will be the big brother to my notebook. I also have a early 2010 Mac Pro with the 2.8QC Xeon which will now be the kids' computer.

I am planning to upgrade the RAM to 16Gb right out of the box and will get a separate TB2 External HD of at least 4 Tb for my photos and videos.

Christmas will coincide with Halloween this year! ;-)

Ordered one the other day, then cancelled it so I could switch a few components. Wound up with a 27 i7 4Ghz, M395x, 8GB (ordering 16-32 from Crucial), 512 SSD, Magic trackpad. Weighed in at ~$3,100 with Applecare and edu discount (have several kids in school). But I expect to sell my late 2012 i7 iMac for 1,300, so that should help fund it.

My only reservation is going with a smaller SSD than my current 3TB Fusion. Hoping the performance will be great, but not looking forward to migrating iTunes & iPhoto to external volumes.

Mine (R9 m395x) is getting ready for shipment now. Delivery 20-22 Oct.
Mine is shipped now - delivery 21 October.

Btw - my invoice says "Magic Trackpad-Z". Is that the Magic Trackpad 2?

What day/time did you order?

Sounds like only a few have changed from Processing to Preparing To Ship. I guess if it is coming from China, it could actually ship as late as Sunday their time. I've seen this in the past with mac orders of new model releases. If not, then we probably wont get delivery till Tues or Wed. They do seem to be moving kind of slow to process though.

The prices of some configurations have just changed today?

Yesterday a 27" iMac with i7, 3Tb fusion, 8Gb ram, & m395x was $2,899, today it is $2,639? Has anybody else not noticed these changes?

I'm still seeing $2,899 for this config. Make sure you have all the above specs selected.

I don't know about the rest of you but this is getting tiring....
I need a change of status here, please, so I don't have to continually keep hitting the refresh key. :p
