Before upgrading to OS 10.10 the battery power remaining indicator showed 12 hours remaining while I left the computer at the home screen with no apps running..after upgrading to 10.10 I see the same battery power remaining indicator on the same full charge showing 6 hours remaining..the machine being tested here is a 11' MID 2013 MBA 1.7ghz i7 8GB..Hopefully this is just an algorithim issue ! any one else with this issue?

I am having the same problem on my rMBP 13". It used to say around 12 hours remaining and now it's usually around 6 hours and the battery is noticeably shorter as well.

----------

Also my wifi has not been working correctly, especially in a browser(either Safari or chrome, except chrome usually works more often now.) I will be connected to the Internet and my browser will be unable to load the page. I try restarting the computer, turning my wifi on/off, and even reset the router(however my iPhone's internet is running fine on the same wifi). Anyone have this same problem or have a solution to it?!

The kernel uses a lot more memory in Yosemite, I've noticed. For the first time, I see swapping. I don't think I've noticed swapping ever since I got my rMBP till now.

I'm not sure why it's taking up so much memory, even though I quit every app. Maybe a memory leak. I also don't have any third party kexts.

Not sure if it's the same memory problems I've had. Reported them earlier on. Hopefully DP2 comes out soon, with a fix for this.
Could try doing a fresh re-install, as it doesn't seem many people have had this problem.

Yeah, I reported it too. Interestingly, it's the only one of my many bugs that have not been tagged as a duplicate. I took a whole system diagnostic though so hopefully that's helpful to them. kernel_task is using up 3.50GB of memory now, which I'm sure isn't normal.

Not only kernel_task but SystemUIServer too on my MP 5.1. Got stuck in Mission Control (blurred screencaps) and had to force (hard) reboot for the very first time since installing Yosemite. Also the Swap Used was not resolved as it usually does go back to 0 and stayed at 350 MB.

~ Cheers

Well not to be picky but the public beta for 10.10 doesn't start for a while so yes the NDA applies.

I'm hoping the public beta will start at the end of this week. Apparently the first day of summer is June 21st so I'd expect to get it then. Really hoping they're not going to make us wait long for the public beta. They did promise "throughout summer."

I've got a bug, and I'm surprised I haven't been able to find anyone else with the problem. I run into this issue a lot because I love the ClickToPlugin extension for Safari that forces HTML5 video in a Quicktime player whenever possible. However, any time HD video is playing, it stutters. Curiously, it only ever happens with one video. If I open a second video, either also in Safari or in Quicktime, the second video plays just fine. This leads me to believe that this isn't poor optimization, but rather a random bug with video acceleration. It happens whether or not I force my dedicated GPU. Flash video (YouTube, for instance) plays at full speed in HD.

Running a mid-2010 15" MBP with an i7 620m, 8GB RAM, nVidia 330M and 250GB SSD. As a non-dev, what is the best way for me to report this to Apple? I looked around briefly but wasn't sure.

I can't be sure we both were experiencing the same bug, but I had a situation with a youtube optimization Safari Add on. Any youtube videos (or most videos in general) would have audio that lagged by a few seconds (if it worked at all) and video loading bugs. I had to bite the bullet and just disable the Add On until the next best update. But in the end, disabling all my Safari Add Ons just seemed to work for me. Good Luck!!

What is going on here?

Quick question to everyone who is having the Activity Monitor issues... does your interface seem to actually respond slower or is the Activity Monitor just displaying CPU at all times? In other words, does your CPU reflect what Activity Monitor is telling you? I'm having none of these problems by the way. 2012 16GB Non retina 2.3

I found a quick fix for people who are having activity monitor issues! Or this worked for me anyways...find the process named "bird". Select it and Force Quit the process in the top left. That sped things along nicely for me. Can anyone else verify that this works?

Same Macbook here does not work because of Bluetooth. If you goto About this Mac then Bluetooth it says Continuity Supported = No and AirDrop Supported = No

So think we are out of luck.

I noticed that spotlight will always be in indexing status. Anyone experience this?

And my time machine is stuck on preparing backup for more than half a day now..

How are you getting the Click To Plugin work with QuickTime at all? I haven't had that working since Mac OS X Lion.. Setting "QuickTime" as player in the settings haven't worked every since Mac OS X Lion for me. What kind of black magic are you using to get it to work in the first place?

Anyone notice a cloudd process running all the time and using CPU

What is this process for?

Cloudd and the 'bird' process are part of iCloud documents and data. I found in DP2 than when active, it is constantly logging in console logs and using ~15-20% CPU processing constantly.
Turning off the Documents and Data in iCloud fixes this for now.

Thank you!!

I can't tell if this is a bug or not. Core Audio is not working. In System preferences, sound section mute is checked and grayed out. I tried reseting the PRAM and sudo mv /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/InstantOn.driver /tmp. Nothing worked so far. Any Ideas?

Edit: I fixed it I opened Audio MDI Setup. On Built-in Output, right click Master then click "Use this device for sound".

This helped me! And being the major problem I had with Yosemite I am very grateful to you, I would not have found it on my own...
