Lovely capture and massive congrats to your friend.

My two little monkeys are doing my head in. We are on holiday right now and they have taken the last straw... last night at dinner, they were chasing the hotel event photographer around to get their picture taken. Turns out the little minxes spent 40 minutes letting her take their pictures at the kids club yesterday! I saw the pictures and they were posing and dancing and playing up for HER camera... meanwhile, when I want just one without them pulling a face like they are sucking a lemon, they run for bloody cover!!!! Aaargh!!!

I like stories like that because it just reaffirms my decision to not have kids :)

Me and Mrs MacRy both don't care for them and yet she is having to knit endless baby items and I'm taking photos of them. Another friend has asked me to take photos of his baby after seeing the ones I posted on Facebook of little Thomas. More baby contact......ewww....

My Therapy girl. I love this photo. Took it in a little town between CO and KS. Can't remember the name. Anyways. Here she is. Ms. Foxy Cleopatra!

She's a Service and Therapy dog. I don't get the joke though.
She was trained since she was a puppy and my husband having a TBI from an EID that blew up right beneath him in Iraq, has had trouble communicating until I bought her for her to be trained and helping my husband overcome and she has.
I have Lupus and Leukemia and every time I'm about to have a seizure or pass out she knows and gets my husbands attention just as she's able to tell when my mother in law needs insulin. I bet your dog can't do that.

There was no joke intended. I'm retired military and have helped my fellow service members obtain service animals and equipment, track chairs for example that service members can be more mobile, by raising funds for them, you misunderstood. It is good you have a excellent dog.

Thanks! Appreciate the candor. A lot of people look weird on her when they read on her ACUs it reads "Service Dog" and she has Therapy Tags as well. When I'm hospitalized which I hate for being more often than I care to admit, my husband is asked to take her in to other rooms and she brights up everyone's lives even if just a little.
She is as sweet as she is lazy and she loves the cuddles but when it comes to me, she can tell a couple of minutes in advance when if a seizure is about to start so she is amazing at alerting others and her response has been nothing but life saving for me. So please understand that when you said said something about her being a counselor I did get offended because indeed my dog can actually save lives and I don't see that as mockery.
Please accept my most sincere apology but I do hope you understand where I come from and why I get so defensive when it comes to my baby girl.
I too served. Both my husband and I in the Marines and then he got out to finish school and joined the Army and just retired.
Having said that, thank you so much for yours and your family's service!

Very good with your Marine service, you must be proud they brought back the legendary 'Raider' name to denote the Marines assigned to my former Special Operations Command. I served in the Army Special Operations for 20 of my 21 years.

And thank you and your husband too.

Never gonna happen fella. Mrs MacRy is the least maternal person you can imagine when it comes to humans. As an RSPCA Inspector her maternal instinct comes out with the animals, especially our furry little canine son.

Here's another of baby Thomas seeing as I haven't been out taking photos for a few days.

I absolutely adore the light, the focus of him hanging on and the soft fall off of the focus too. Really nicely done!

I think we're still at 800px wide display size but have the option to click on the shot to see it at the posted max size that you allow from your host.

Thanks, Peter. It was a problem with my SmugMug server having a bit of a hiccup last night for some mysterious reason. All is good again, I can post them at up to 1600px wide again.

Finally got out again after a couple of weeks . My goal was to find what's left of an estate called Cliffdale . Built in 1911 , razed around 1939 when the property became part of Palisades Interstate Park . Except they didn't do a real good job tearing it down ; a lot of the foundation is still there , plus there's identifiable places in the grounds and bits of plantings that still survive.
What's left :

We need more people like Mrs MacRy. RSPCA is under appreciated and I dont want to think about the things he has seen. Our last four dogs have been rescue dogs. I think breeders and new owners need more vetting (haha not quite the way i meant it)..

Two thumbs up for Mrs MacRy..

BTW...for the record in case my dry sense of humour isnt translating to text. I love my little girls very much... to quote a friend of ours, they are more important to me than my next breath. However.. as their dad, i am allowed a moment to vent when they are testing my patience right?

She does a fantastic job under some pretty awful conditions at times. It never ceases to amaze me just how feckless and irresponsible some people are when it comes to animals. There are some real monsters out there who would be on the receiving end of some vigilante justice from me if I was doing her job.

Fortunately there are also some wonderful people who dedicate their lives to animal welfare, with no incentive for personal gain and they make a real difference in the world. Animal welfare do-gooders we salute you!

Kudos to you for having rescue dogs Ken. There are so many abandoned and neglected animals in rescue centres that need a loving home and a chance at a nice life. It's good to hear people providing one :) Two thumbs up to Ken.
