One year ago today, saying good bye to a great cat. Only had him a year after he wander into my neighbor's driveway.?
Before I read what you typed, but after I saw the picture and the blue tape wrapped around the cat's foreleg, I knew what you were going to say. Similar tape used on our cat when we took him in to be put to sleep back in December.

We have had many cats and dogs that had to be put to "sleep". The most human way is to literally put them to sleep first before injecting the final shot. Once time the vet didn't do that, it wasn't pretty. I will always do it this way. This vet tested the injection site with a saline shot first. It is never easy to say good-by. Our original male Dalmatian loved my old van, he would climb in and sit in all day! and growl if you tried to get him out. When he could no longer process his food due to age, we took him to the vets in the van, and he gave him his shots in the van. He was happy, he understood it was time.

One thing the animal hospital staff did for Sherlock, the cat of ours who had cancer, when we took him in was give him a can of cat food and then after he finished and we said we were ready, then they injected the drug.

It seemed to work well, at least in this case. However, one of Sherlock's symptoms had been a reduced appetite, so it also made me feel bad to see him eating right before the end (Hey! Maybe he is alright after all! No, he has cancer, you are following yourself.). But at least he wasn't hungry at the end.

Can you elaborate on the advantages of using this technique to photograph the moon?

Throwback Thursday, a photo snapped 11 years ago, April 2010 with my Sony DSC-W210.

Taken in the Swiss town of Fribourg. The river, the Sarine, marks the linguistic frontier between the German-speaking part of Switzerland to the east (left on this photo) and the French-speaking part to the west.
