Hey I did a train photo as well! I took this one yesterday on the new Canada Line that Translink has built here in BC. It goes all the way from Vancouver Airport right into Downtown Vancouver. Really quick train ride. I didn't bring my tri pod with me so I sat down and tried to balance the camera on my knee's. I think it turned out alright.
Your train's a whole lot faster than mine ( and IMHO the pic is a whole lot better) , but our station's just have more ambiance .

This shot isn't really too compelling in and of itself, but it does demonstrate the D300's auto-focusing (which I'm still learning how to use most effectively.) This backlit shot was taken through a hurricane-type fence (the front out-of-focus elements) and the camera never lost focus on the rider behind the fence as I panned. There are a few different ways to set up the focus tracking, including 3-d color tracking, and the focus release time can be adjusted depending on situation (time camera will hold focus after something comes between subject being tracked and the camera.) Anyway, a lot going on that my old D50 never told me about...
Lens used was an older generation Nikkor 300f/4 AF ED (non AF-S) which actually focuses fairly quickly on the D300, esp. if the limiter is set.

Hehe, you had me fooled. At first glance I thought it was some kind of bird.
I think the photo would look better if the cat wasn't dead center. Place it more to the left, leaving some room on the right, so we can see what it is seeing. (or at least give an impression of that).
.... I had an email this morning from a magazine editor, wanting to use one of my pix "for a credit". I said fine... as long as she'd come round to my place and wash my car for free, while I tell the neighbours what a good job she did...
