Slowly dissolving

Nikon D40, 50mm

I intentionally pushed the brightness of the greenish noise in post to produce the that extra grain and texture.

Love this, not sure why exactly, but looks brilliant. As for Flickr and colours... it's all to do with colour profiles and browsers, yada yada yada. The easiest way to avoid it is to hang prints :D

Anyway, here's mine.

Hi Hans! Here's my criticism on your photo (and I dont mean to be rude). First, the reflection of the photographer taking the photo in the eyes of the girl sort of diminishes the mood for me. It no longer seems like a genuine emotion, IMHO. Second, I think the concept of the photo has been overdone. It may be just me, but I have seen this idea played out many times to the point where it no longer gives me the "awww" factor.

Nevertheless, the idea may be overplayed some but the photo, as a work in itself, is still good. :)

Another shot grabbed on a rather gloomy day in the Yorkshire Dales...

It always amazes me how you can grab a shot on a bad day and still have it look so awesome, brilliant photo again Mr Doylem. :)

I promise guys this is the last shot form this series on Troon shore that I'm going to post.
The sun going down behind Arran again.

I found Bigfoot and he lives in my backyard! Or, why my neighbors complain about the weeds.

I laughed my head off when I saw that, you beat me to it! With all the impressive insect and spider shots in the last few days and nothing that big or scary living in Scotland, I took this:

Steamie and Doylem, yet again I'm amazed how you can take (almost) mundane settings and lighting and produce those results.

wicked. More os a picture than a photograph in my opinion, because it looks really post processed but I love it...the red and bluer contrast. What P.P. techniques did you use to get it like this?

Thanks Very much Fuzzy14 & Marclapierre .
The whole process for this photo was as follows :)
Shot using Pentax K10d on Tripod with 18-55mm using Nd8 Grad filter and Circular polariser,
Downloaded using Aperture with slight adjustment to contrast and saturation but large adjustment to white balance. Then slight modification to curves applied to RGB in Photoshop.
No other work done :D

epicwelshman: I like how the harsh sun and textured sand clash with the smoothness of the wet sand. Same goes for the contrast between the person and the rest.
Plus the use of the long lens creates some strangeness about the persons size, which i guess is good, as I have to look at it.

EricP: Space is so fascinating to look at. You did a great job capturing it. It gives me a dreamy feel and let's my mind wander; well done.
