Impressive! Nice pic as well :)

Alex

Yep, I couldn't hand hold for that time without VR.

There's loads more large prints of his, but I'm having to clean them up a little as some of them have age related marks on them.
I will dribble them out slowly.

Thank you on his behalf :) It's a shame my dad missed the digital age.

Cheers :)

Hugh

Awesome shot! Not quite as awesome as a peg bag but nice nonetheless.

Just start shooting the peg bag, she'll have no problems with you capturing the moon! ;)

Bang-on shot, with superb detail.

Lovely capture. Here is one of mine from before I swapped my Canon gear for Sony A7..... DOH!!!

Thanks guys.

One aspect of certain types of photography and subjects that fascinates me no end is being able to see images that I, or others, have captured that I couldn't possibly see with the naked eye. Like the moon, details of tiny insects or MacRy's peg bag that is just too far away from here.

As promised to Cheese&Apple, a photo taken by my Dad, developed and mounted in 1963.
I'm guessing it was taken around the Minehead area in Somerset as we took our holidays there during the 60s.

On the back is a 'Highly Commended' label from the Medway Camera Club, and his writing - Voightlander Vito BL, Pan F, 2 secs, F4, hand held.

Cheers :)

Thanks for posting this treasure Hugh. Well done. Someday, maybe in retirement, I'll have to dig-out and scan shots of mine that we're taken with the same model of camera.

Btw, my father, who passed the camera on to me from his father, was born in 1925 as well. Fortunately, he is still with us and doing well.

Cheers,
Peter

The zoo I work at hosted a 5k/15k race this past weekend. Our traditional post-race snack for the runners is the "Trot Dog", banana and peanut butter inside of a hot dog bun with honey and chocolate syrup offered as condiments. I did event photography for the race, photographing the traditional celebratory snack seemed like a good idea.

Peanut butter and bananas are two of my biggest food hates. Together sounds discussing!
As it's Tuesday here, Another from me.

Road Trip!!!!!

highway191c.jpg

Gotta be about the loneliest major road I've ever been on . Had to be 20 miles + of this .

I am actually teetering on the edge of getting my deluxe pegbag out.

However, here's another dad shot, 16 x 12 print on matt paper.

I remember setting it up - we were in the New Forest in Hampshire, and I was 10 or 12 years old, lying behind the log calling the dogs towards me.

This one was taken in the early 70s.

Cheers :)

Zone focused at F8. To be fair, anything from about a metre is in focus even wide open.

Imagine me sitting here clapping excitedly... so how are you finding the lens? I have bought a 40mm Nokton to play with... looking forward to it arriving..
