Pano's

Hey,

I saw a really good pano a few replies back. I especially like them because of Australia! I hope to make it there someday, maybe on vacation.

The first is a pano of the California Coast along Bodega Bay, about an hour north of San Francisco on Highway 1. Really beautiful place.

The other is of Dayton, Ohio. I know, really wonderful place... But I call it home for now... San Francisco in about a year.

Without going on any more, the panos.

Crawn

P.S. Sorry about the crappy resolution, but these had to be REALLY reduced to make them fit on this website. Both of these I had printed out, the Cali was over 53 inches long and the Dayton one was around 44 inches long.

does anyone know how to do that with a dmc-tz1 camera?

You'll goin to need preferably a shutter priority mode, or manual mode... then just drop the shutter speed down to a few seconds.... You'll also need a tripod or something very stable to put it on

Good luck with it

Phenomenal, as usual - would you be willing to share post-processing details on this? Your work is always inspiring - please keep it up!

Thanks a lot!

Regarding post-processing: I wish I could tell you exactly what I did with that one, but I can't since I worked on several versions that morning. I do recall using a free Photoshop action called "Midnight Glow", the app "Convert to B. and W. Pro", the cloning tool to clean up some garbage, and tweaking with the brightness/contrast and highlight/shadow settings.

Spring Snow

Haven't posted anything in a while, but I thought since its now spring, I'd post some snow, because thats how great Massachusetts is. From the little bit of wet snow we got the other night.

Fiddled with the contrast and white balance in Aperture then Orton-ified in my extremly ghetto version of Photoshop that I "borrowed" from my dad.
