Here's one from the same walk home earlier this evening. Looks a lot better in a larger version.

Thank you so much for your help with my HDR issues Ben! That Stuck In Customs HDR Tutorial will become very helpful as soon enough I will have Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom to accompany Photomatix.

I'm hitting up the NYC B&H store this Sunday to pick up a tripod.

Thank you also for clarifying my Photoshop related question as well as when to use HDR and when not to.

Thanks again Ben! ;)

If you have lightroom, there are a couple of presets here http://inside-lightroom.com/hdr.html that will allow you to create a number of shots for HDR. Not a replacement for auto-bracketing, but it might help.

Nice shots, btw. How are you liking the D40?

this is awesome. the lighting on the birds is just right.
Thanks Marley!

I don't have Lightroom just yet, but thank you for that url, Iscariot. I'll be sure to use that in addition to the link that volvoben provided.

As for the D40, I really love it. Coming from a Sony Cybershot to this DSLR really is something. The difference in clarity between shots taken by my D40 and shots taken by the Cybershot is enormous. Now I feel as if I plan out vacations with my parents according to where I can get nice shots.

I love flower shots!

Looks like it was taken with a camera phone :/

Just lotsa noise.

What was the ISO here? My D70s is hardly a tenth noisy as that at even 1600.
That's what you can have for $1000 less than your dslr.:p That wasn't really the best one, but there is certainly no comparison to any dslr once my Lumix goes above ISO 800, unless it's broad daylight... the fz50 is not for night shooting.:(

Haha, I for some reason didn't catch that you weren't shooting with an SLR, even thought it was clearly in your post.
