First attempt at image post!

First post here so go easy! Hope this works...

This is my girlfriend patiently waiting while I was taking loads of photos around this area. This one's really strange because she looks so sombre, a moment later she was happily skipping up the path towards me!

That's a great picture jupiter, the framing is very good.

On the note, i too often take my girlfriend with me when shooting outdoors but i find that she slows me down considerably (in many many ways). Don't let her get used to it! :D

Sometimes I like to just stop and stand in one place for a while. I often notice things I would otherwise have walked right past, like this woodpecker visiting its nest in the trunk of an old tree.

Cute little guy! Those are the best kind of shots, the ones you 'woulda' missed...

The story behind these 'cars', terriyaki, has gotta be good!

Actually, they're just cars outside the Vancouver art gallery, they've been there for years. Sorry to burst your bubble :p

GORGEOUS! Would you mind discussing your basic post processes? Is this a photoshop plugin or a series of manipulation effects?

Hey, Thanks a lot, lightens my mood lots when people like my stuff…*Anyway… well I did some color work and contrast improvement in Aperture, just because thats where it ends up first, then I thought it might look neat in Orton. I have photoshop 7, which I think is pretty ghetto… but I orton-ed it in there using the technique on this page:

http://www.naturephotographers.net/articles0106/dw0106-1.html

Thanks a lot!

*edit* I realize you think that the white there is photoshoped perhapse… it wasn't, thats all real snow… welcome to New England…

Thanks very much! Haha oh yes, couldnt really complain on this particular trip though since it was her idea!

Thanks again, I used my 400D (xti) with its stock lens at 55mm, Av mode at f5.6 i think. Can't wait to get a new lens, now I'm improving on my photography I can really spot the shortfalls of this one.

I like the framing, but I wish you had the whole diamond shape or is it cut off like that in the railing? I hope you don't mind, if you do I will cut the attachment, but I cropped and lightened it a bit to make it more symmetrical framing.

I think it would be nice if you could actually see some of the texture/color on the "frame" (wall). This would be a good HDR shot...
