Baby Duck-
That shot is absolutely gorgeous. My best friend got married downtown on Saturday and we hit Beale St. afterwards but I left early due to crowds and exhaustion and all that. Hope you enjoyed the Sunset Symphony.

Thanks a lot! I've been trying out a number of new photo techniques, and that was basically my first attempt at a long exposure. Also, Sunset Symphony was very nice.

Anyway, congrats to your friend! And if you're in Memphis and want to meet up some time, drop me a line.

DISCOMUNICATION said:
I was looking at the Samsung NV line for my first digicam. How do you like it?

It's OK. I'm going to sell and trade in for a Fujifilm F31FD actually. I find that it is a little contrasty and harsh. Low light is not very good at all without flash, which can then in turn make the image look completely wrong. It gets noisy above ISO 400 as well. It's great for macro shots though as is shown by the picture above.

Wanna buy? :)

These "BIG GALLOOT" skivvies have an 18 foot waistband and can be found in Beatink Bobs' Cafe inside the City Museum St. Louis, Mo. Unlike any museum you will ever visit. A fantastic place.

I'm hitting myself in the head...

The other day I saw a raccoon in the woods, and it would have been a perfect picture, since his head was sticking out of the brush. Then the day after that when I was walking, I saw a rabbit twice, and then I saw a gopher after that. Both times I didn't have my camera! Ahhh!! ;)

I want to take pictures whenever, but I don't want to become a photography nerd that just takes pictures while others are having fun...

Since when is taking pictures not fun? Just do what you want, and let labels like "nerd" fall where they may. A person with well developed skills is respected by all worthy beings. And, no matter what you do, you will displease someone. Better, then, to follow your own heart, as it were, especially if what you do is creative and productive.

MartinC, very cool.....

freebooter, how very true....

Here's my meagre contribution. Beginning to wish for more reach on my 70-300, now.
