School__s_Out_for_the_Summer_by_djmastawes.jpg

I ran out of photos to post yesterday, so my apologies. Well, I have 2 that I could have posted, but they're really garbage.

Anyway, I went for a quick bike ride, and the yard to this school was open. So I went in a took a few pictures.

Sunset over Lighthouse park

I haven't had time to go through my recent photos, so I'm still working with older ones. Another from 10 days ago and a dinner cruise in Burrard Inlet

I'm definitely getting hooked on Aperture.

The HSR, built mostly by French and Japanese firms, reaches a top speed of 300 km/h and connects Taipei in the north with Kaoshiung in the south, and various points in between. It rides smooth as silk and is cannibalizing sales from domestic airlines, which saw a 52% drop in passenger traffic in June. Taipei to Tainan, for example, is 45 minutes flight time (plus extra time to taxi on takeoff and landing) and 1 hr 15 min by train. Getting into and out of the train is much faster, hence door-to-door time is actually less in most cases. Service began earlier this year.

That is a really cool shot(s). Do you mind if I ask: Where was this taken? (how did that street get like that? something seems really odd about it)

I love to have it in high res if that is at all possible. (PM me?) I think it would make a wicked desktop and I know a little boy who'd think the same. (tractor and all) :)

When I look through this thread I think my DSLR must be broken. wow.

Thanks.
The close up filter is reversed. Easy to do. The filter is 58mm and the lens has a 52mm filter thread, so I have a step down ring. I duct-taped the step down ring to the front of the filter, allowing it to be screwed on in a reversed position. Works fine to give more magnification or a greater work distance.

Excellent, thank you.

Thought this was a nice shot. Took it while sitting at a picnic table having lunch at the Longtrail Brewery in Vermont (highly recommend!).

A little reminder of the forum rules, especially:

Useless posts. Do not bother making posts with only one or two words (e.g., LOL) or a smilie, or post simply to have the first reply in a thread. Such posts waste everyone's time and will be deleted. Posts saying "I agree", "me too", or the equivalent are also routinely removed.

Just quoting a picture post and state something like "great shot", will be removed according to the above mentioned rule.

If you want to comment on a picture tell what you like, maybe even a point or two about rooms for improvement or some something else that actually contributes to this thread and the forum in general.

Another rule worth mentioning is:

Sequential posts. Combine your comments into one post rather than making many consecutive posts to a thread within a short period of time.

Please use the multiquote button (
multiquote_off.gif
) if you're answering/commenting on more than one post, and use the edit button if you want to add something to a recent post.

Thanks!

Thanks, It was taken on a new housing development on Hindmarsh Island (South of Adelaide). The street isn't finished (just compacted rubble). Then there is the fact that this is HDR.
