Of all the years I've lived in Cardiff, I've never seen the sky that colour !!

Yeah, I'd say it's a bit heavy on the saturation....probably the photographer needs to get into the menu and adjust the settings on the camera. I think the D40 and D40x are like the D50, with the default set to make images "pop" right out of the camera, which in reality isn't always desirable.

Aaaaah. Yes, I remember a few sunsets like that when I visited (Goonellabah, south of Brisbane). Stuck here in Belgium though for the next few years. :(

I was drunk one night and this is how I felt. The columns in the backround are from a building in downtown Fort Myers, FL, and so are the lights, they were on it. The exit sign I shot from different angles and then stacked them. The eye is my eye. In total it is 7 images stacked using photoshop CS2.

Actually, the sky was a lovely beautiful blue that day. I upped the saturation a little bit, but it's more or less representative of what the weather was actually like that day.

That being said, I'm no photojournalist and I have little interest in making my photos always true to life... if I want a blue sky in my photos I'll damn well have one :D

Anyway, here's my photo for today:

Shot I took yesterday in the English Garden. How do you guys feel about the shade at the bottom? I'm ambivalent about it and can't decide if the photo would have been better if I weren't sitting under a tree.

You could always crop the shadow and the person laying down, and just have a long and thin garden shot. I'm not a huge fan of the shadow, it distracts the eye :)

Dumb question: is there a way to copy/paste EXIF metadata from Aperture?

I have season tickets to Villanova football (I went there) and I took my 20D and my 70-200 with me to see what I could get. Security was being bastards, so I was limited in where I could stand. I may have a field pass next weekend though. So, better location for me. This is our tight end, Matt Sherry, celebrating after scoring a touchdown against UPenn in the fourth quarter of a 34-14 rout that featured 7 INTs by Villanova.

scotthayes, I like the first one. FYI, one photo a day, not one post a day :)

M@lew, I loved your recent stitched shot... your street photography skills really are getting good.

Has Freebooter vanished recently? I need my macro bug fix!

I'm curious as to how much PP you guys do.

With some of these pictures, it's obvious. With others, not so much.

I'd honestly say that with the majority of my pictures, the only PP I do is to correct issues like CA/purple fringing and vingnetting.

Not much really unless I'm stiching more than one, pringting one out or using one of my stock for a special project. Other than that most of my color pictures remain the same. I PP my b/w in the darkroom while developing them, but haven't taken any b/w recently....hmmmmm :(
