I could have framed this a little better, but really wish I had a wider angle lens...

Wow, you go away for a while, and the bar gets raised!

Thought it about time I posted something. I've been lacking inspiration, just lately, but saw this, and thought I'd see how it came out.

Redrabbit, great photo and B&W conversion. The tonality is great.

Here's an older one I just stumbled upon.

I'll take critique, please:

It might just be me, but I find it rude to shoot homeless people like this, without asking permission. They cannot help the situation they're in, and I really hate photogs who exploit that.
I've seen plenty of photos of homeless people that are intimate and do not look like wildlife shots. I think you should consider getting to know your subject, especially in this situation.

Anyway, on another note, I'm doing more with film now.

Canon Elan 7E with EF 17-40 f/4L
Kodak Portra 400VC film
chromogenic print on 8x10 Kodak color RC paper

I completley agree and wanted to say something like that. The photog should have approached him, talked to him, got to know his situation, and then asked if you could shoot his photo. That way, you treat him like a human being, and you add a bit of quality to your photo when you can explain to other people that person's situation.

I suggest you read this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Poor-People-William-T-Vollmann/dp/0060878827

Poor People, by William Vollman. He travels the world and asks lowerclass people he meets why they are poor and to help explain their situations. There are also some stunning photographs with all of the stories. Great photojournalism and social documentary making.

Just my two cents

To Seenew and Redrabbit. I live in the downtown area, and see this man often. I did approach him and ask if I could take his picture, and I gave him $10 dollars. He happily said yes. So I walked around for a bit took some pictures and saw him 30 min later, and took his picture. I often give him money and food. I understand what you are saying, but I did do it with his permission.

The colours hidden behind a black sky...
Not so sharp - I had to rest the camera on a rock the waves were hitting, but I like the colours.
