A shot from my travels through my local state forest. This seems to be 2 spiders mating or the female devouring the male just after mating.

Hi all.
Well I see a familiar face here (clix pix) from my favorite nikon forum, and so I figure I may as well make a little contribution or two.

I've got a few images to share over the next few days, i'll keep going through my library of photos and pick some more.

In the meantime, try this one. It's a bit more fun than some of the ones i'll be posting in the next few days which are mostly 'just cause they look nice' photos, not exciting in any way

The information:
Camera: Nikon D200 (my baby)
Date: April 29, 2006
Time: 2:10 PM
Location: father's front yard, Miami, FL, USA
Lens: Nikon 85mm f/2.8D Perspective Control Micro-Nikkor (with PK-13 extension tube I think)
Tech Stuff: ISO 200, 1/250 sec f/stop unknown- the 85PC is a manual diaphragm lens, and with non-CPU tubes it won't accurately report aperture to the camera. May have been f/5.6-11.0.

Hope you all like it...

Wow! I like how you can see the hairs on her legs!
One thing though - do you think you've got some dirt on your sensor? There are 4 spots that look like it in the image, or maybe it's just stuff flying around in the garden. Amazing picture - must be a great lens. You've got me really wanting a macro lens now! ;)

Put a warning on that photo! I hate spiders, and can usually manage to look at a photo of one, but not a shot so close up. :( :(

Lots of detail in low light. Really nice - thanks for sharing. :)

Thank you. The light was really weird - inside a big old greenhouse basically - it seemed very blue so the camera had a tough time in some shots. I don't know what I'm doing yet with white balance, but it's a good learning experience. Oh, and the first outing for my Nikon 18-200VR lens (I know you're a Canon man so that won't excite you! :p )

Anyway, a new day here so time for some more botany I'm afraid - but this time loads more colour:

Ah, an Echeveria! I love my succulents - they have such wonderful architecture and texture. Nice colour in that shot.

Very nice, really Dutch, the flag off course (May the 5th is liberation day) and the typicall dutch facade.

Thanks - yes I'd forgotten the importance of the day. And I just noticed that there's one of those ubiquitous furniture hooks in the shot too - a bit of Dutch ingenuity!

This was taken at Valley Fair in Shakopee Minnesota during an autocross event. The event is actually a timed race corse on a large paved parking lot. This was taken in the paddock.

He's a good looking fellow. :)

Would you mind sharing the city and state in your original post with the pic?

<Waves back to Harrison> Hi and welcome to the other place on the 'net where I spend a lot of my time!

Oops, almost forgot to say how much I like that photo of the dragonfly! Up close and personal, that one....
