I generally disdain bird shots because of the wretched excess of those shots in some forums, but not when they're as awesome as this one. ;)

Can I cheat? Post twice?

204554636_2fad544f28.jpg

The flowers other side is far too blurry and impossible to discern its petals. All my photos are taken with a sony cybershot 5.0 MP Point and Shoot. However it has a macro.

I love the fact that these people weren't acknowledging the wall.

I was angry at the time but after I think I finally understood that they were just not able to look anymore.

Very nice job on the pan here, I never seem to get such sharpness in my subject when I try it. It's something more I need to practice.

Me neither. I tried it a zillion times over the past 3 days, although the lighting was always a bit too low. Not a good excuse, but I never got an image that sharp. Maybe a tripod is needed?

Do you have a secret?

I just crapped myself. I just can't believe it. Why is it so focused when it's moving towards you? Gotta give some shot info or hints on how you did this.

Anyway, "Masterpiece" was taken several days ago near a dock just outside Surfer's Paradise.

Cheers for the replys on my Eagle Owl shot.
It was taken a few years ago as part of a shoot to publicise the plight of unwanted birds of prey that were being dumped into the open countryside w/o any thought as to how they might survive in the wild after a lifetime of captivity.
I've taken a screenshot of the EXIF data for you all to have a look at, basically it's a shot from a 1D with a 100-400 lens at ISO 400. Reason for it being sharp even when it's moving towards me is that the camera was on servo focus and it's designed to take shots like this in its stride.

Cheers for now,
John

People walking home after the fireworks.
The only light in the scene is this lamp.

Not sure if this counts, considering it has been heavily photochopped...

Yeah, I know some don't think of it as the art of photography anymore, but it's still a picture, right? Or is it now an image? Anyway, I like to see creative uses of photoshop, too. Maybe if people don't like it in this thread, we could start a new one with Photoshopped pictures of the day, or something.
Edit: I forgot to say that I like it. :)

I think it would still be considered a picture. I didnt remove any of the 'important' stuff (wife)... maybe we can start a photochopped thread, it would be interesting to see what people can do...

Going through some of my older files, keeping the ones I like and removing the dross.
I still like this one, although it's getting a bit long in the tooth now.

Did you photoshop that, or use a lensbaby?

It's definitely an image, maybe a picture, but not a photo(?). Does that make sense?
