But then I second guessed myself!

I've been out of NYC for a few, actually since the Aug 14 Big Blackout. But I'm headed back into town at the end of summer.

I'm trying to find a place now. Holy mother of GOD! What happened to the rents there!? The average 1 Bedroom is about $2500 for just an OK place.

I have just left NYC, I normally stay there about one month per year. Nevertheless, I do agree the rents are crazy. $3k per month for a small studio is beyond painful. I love the city, but love certainly hurts in this case.

Thank you. :) Actually, it was a really warm evening, it's been unseasonably warm over here. She and her brother were amazing subjects.[/IMG]

Heh! I thought she looked like I know I do when you finally submerge your whole body into freezing water and immediately jump back up again in shock! :D

Good to have you back by the way, annk. :)

Welcome back, annk. Those are some very nice additions to this thread. We really should make a gallery of this whole thread. Are there any copyright issues with doing that?

As long as there were no ads on the page, and people had their names and site addresses (or emails) below the images..

Here's my shot for the day.

It was a hot, humid evening, with some terrific cloud/sun effects. The shot required some contrast and h&s tweaking to recapture the moment.

Nice shot. I love shooting in/around the old lighthouse up there and you captured an interesting angle. Did you shoot through the grating at the top of the stairs?

Yeah, though I had to rush there was a whole family wanting to go up to see it right behind me. Here's another picture of the lighthouse I posted earlier in this thread.

And to keep with themes heres just a shot of the lighthouse for my picture today. On this one I got out there right before it was closing so no one was there. I also think it is a cool juxaposition next to the yucca plant.

Just a snapshot taken with a Leica D-Lux.

For a snapshot, that's quite good. You'd be surprised how much I like it. :)

Fantastic photo. Love it, despite what you said about the jitters. :)

Nice photo, and I don't wanna be the one to do this, but if you haven't noticed yet, we normally put some details about the photo, such as where the photo was taken, and the date. Oh, and some have been posting EXIF data as well, or at least some of the more important info.

Anyway, here's mine.

Taken at Eagle Pier on July 31st 2006. Nikon D50, Sigma 24-70 mm f2.8 lens.

I think it would be effective if I increased the contrast, or desaturated and made it black and white, or both. Not sure yet.

(I just downloaded my holday photos, so will be harrassing this thread over the next few days, although I promise to post only one a day from now on. :D )

Edit: I just realised the colours are really subdued on the interweb. :( The clouds are really orangey pink in the actual photo.
