Agreed!!
Are they really moths, not fireflies? I suppose the light is being reflected off the white wings?

Lens: Nikon 10.5 fish-eye
This is one of the first test shots from my new IR converted D50. Had to do an auto levels adjustment. Also did a minor unsharp mask.
seenew said:1. Chip, that's really cool, kind of surreal.
2. How well would a Hoya IR filter work on my 350D? (would I even be able to get one for that camera?)
3. Is there something special that makes a fisheye lens a fisheye? Or is it anything that's down that low? (10-15mm?)
Chip NoVaMac said:The IR filters for non-converted cameras are availble. But they can be expensive. And hot spot issues can be a problem.
A fish-eye lens is one that can show 180 degrees. They can be full frame or they can be circular.

So would a 10mm lens be fisheye, even if it's not labeled as such? Or does focal length not really have to do with whether or not a lens is a fisheye? Just wanted to know, 'cause I'm looking at the Canon EF-S 10-20mm.

I love to run up the local mountains, especially when the weather turns interesting. This is about 75% of the way to the top of the highest peak, on a gentle, warm, rain-soaked afternoon. On days like this, I have the trails to myself, and it's entrancing to move rhythmically through the fog for three hours. I used about 26 shots and "AutoPano" software to join them.
