this intrigues me...
[doublepost=1493556654][/doublepost]
as does this...

The entire "Achouffe" range is excellent - La Chouffe, Houblon Chouffe, and their darker beer, McChouffe. They also make a season beer at Christmas N'Ice Chouffe.

And they come with what must rank as some of the most charming and simply gorgeous labels in the brewing world. Simply catching a glimpse of one of them will give rise to a grin you are unable to suppress.

We've got a great shop around the corner, Familie van Rijk, that sell 'growlers' with different beers each week. Typically on Saturday I wander in to see what they have. Tonight I'm drinking a beer caller 'Keller' from the 'Maximus' brewery in my home town of Utrecht. The wife is also partaking in a glass.

I dont know that I can properly describe how great that beer was. I had a STRONG buzz going after finishing the bottle (13.5% ABV). Its $33 a bottle, and I liked it so much, I went and bought another today to keep for another time

Hm, yes, I know those beers. One is usually more than quite sufficient, and any more than one and well, you may enter an entirely different dimension where you may even answer to a different name.

Sort of like the effects that the legendary Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster was memorably supposed to have had.....

I live in the backwards state of Virginia, where a while back some stupid jackass lawmaker enacted a law that forbid the sale of beer over a certain alcohol content. And that meant I couldn't buy my favorite beer, McEwan's Scotch Ale anymore. My wife is out of town to Baltimore for a few weeks and scored a case of it plus a few others. Freaking jackpot.

I won't comment on the intelligence - of lack of it - of the law-maker, since that would seem to be a case of stating the obvious - but that is a nice haul.

Of the selection, I have only ever tasted the offering from Founder's - "Dirty Bastard", which I liked. Enjoy.

You can buy cases of bourbon and scotch but beer that is 5% by volume, that's bad for you. I ****ing hate lawmakers that think they know what's best for me. **** them. So that's lost revenue and sales for Virginia because of dumb ass lawmakers.
