I'm still shocked at the folks bashing other folks for owning a truck (a vehicle they obviously enjoy using).

Anyways, I won't get into that arguement. I have attached my bike, 2008 Honda CBR600RR Special Edition and 2005 GMC Canyon Z71, which I just got. Pictures are bad, not taken with my camera.

The truck is all stock/original, but I will be doing a few things to it over the summer time. Why a truck? I love trucks, thats why. I don't drive cars/trucks much in the spring/summer/fall months much anyways, hence the bike. Truck is perfect for the terrible Canadian winters we get as well, which is a bonus.

Thanks!! The only power mods I have in so far is a Helix DP, SPT Exhaust, and a SPT Intake tuned to stage 2. I have a VF39 waiting to go in but I'm holding off till I can get my hands on a STi TMIC.

Nice Fozzie!

Your mods sound similar to those I have on my Saabaru

VF39
TurboXS TMIC
Cobb Catted DP
SPT Catback
Perrin BCS
Shifter mods

Too bad I'm selling her :( I'll hopefully be picking up a Leggy Wagon GT though! :)

Why do you think I am getting the Jetta. I barely ever drive the GTR because it doesn't do very well MPG wise.
So, instead of just paying for a little more gas, you are supposedly going to buy a new car? Just a guess, but I'm thinking it might be cheaper just budgeting for a little more gas usage.
The thing I don't get is why do people get a large truck as their main car when it won't be used how it's supposed to be used.
Says the person who supposedly owns a GTR, but is going to drive it less because of poor mileage. According to your own logic, shouldn't you be driving it all the time, very quickly? I mean, it's a sports car. Who cares about mileage when it is intended for performance.

Any pics of the GTR interior, btw? For someone who has enough money to supposedly own one, and enough left over to be thinking of buying a second car, I find it kind of odd that you don't have a camera to take any pics of your car. I'm just sayin, its kind of odd.

Ya it is cheaper to pay for the gas but I'm getting the TDI because it is much better for the environment.

Of all the people that have posted their car on this forum I bet I'm the only person that has taken their car to the track and actually taken it to its highest speed. The reason I don't have a camera is because I don't need one I never need to take pictures and the only reason my friend took pictures is he had some project to do for school.

This truck thing is odd and silly. Some people drive trucks because they like them, some people find them useful. I like trucks personally, though I own an older 330ci. My next car may very well be an f150 because it'd be awfully nice to be able to tow the boat to the lake or haul stuff to the ranch whenever I please

Fords have a great interior, but they're slooow. :D Make sure you check out the Titan and the Tundra ;). And just remember, if you buy a truck, you better tow stuff everyday, wear steel toe'd boots, and eat lots of jerky.

Sierra is better. At least it doesn't suffer from camshafts breaking, tailgates bending, transmission issues, and frame flex like no tomorrow like the Tundra does. :D

Let the truck wars begin. :p

haha. Yeah the Tundras had tons of problems in the first year. Titans too, with brakes and rear diff failures. Mine's an '04 tho (first model year) with no problems except the brakes, which were fixed free. I don't know, those catfish Tundras are growing on me! I suppose I do like Chevy too. That's all my dad ever drives on the farm. Really, you probably can't go wrong with any new truck, it's just personal preference. I really like the look of the new GMC's, I'm just more inclined to buy "Foreign" cars cuz I've had great luck with them. (By putting "Foreign" in quotes, I'm trying to point out that the Titan IS from Nissan, but it's built in Mississippi! Which is more than I can say for Dodge, building their Rams in Mexico )

What matters to me is the US/Canadian parts content. So while final assembly maybe in Mexico, as long as the parts is still mostly American/Canadian then I am happy. I will still look for an American built truck if they are also built in the US( like GM trucks are).

I agree, mostly. I mean it doesn't bother me that most GM trucks are finally assembled in Canada. My wife is from Canada, so she pretty much falls into that category too ;). Plus, my stepdad only drives GM, and the last one he had went for over 270K miles before having any problems, then he fixed and sold it. I've heard of others that have tranny failures at 3k miles. It's hit or miss, and very dependent on your driving habits and how you care for the vehicle.

The three biggest strengths of the Titan are the Engine (The VQ56 motor is AWESOME), the Transmission (my truck is 5 yrs old and shifts more smoothly than ever, which is more than I can say for any of my dad's Chevy's), and the Drivetrain. I happen to love almost everything about my truck, but those 3 above were all very important to me in choosing a vehicle that I want to last a long time. This is a summary of where the major parts of the Titan are originally assembled.

Frame - USA
Engine - cast in Alabama, but assembled in Smyrna, TN
Tranny - Japan/Tennessee, I found conflicting info.
Body stampings - considerable amount made in Smyrna plant & shipped to MS
Other small things like certain interior pieces, the rear bumper, odds and ends are 'Hecho en Mexico' and other countries and that's fine. All auto manufacturers do this to save costs, etc.

It's true that Nissan is owned by the Japanese, but when they make awesome vehicles that supply TONS of US jobs, that's a good thing in my book.

I have yet to go out and buy a brand new vehicle straight off the lot, but you can be sure that it's going to be a tough choice when I finally do. There's good and bad to be found with every manufacturer.

I'm scared to take my Jetta to it's top speed, it keeps on accelerating even at 210KM/H... :S

That must have been a pretty big track, if you supposedly drove a GTR to its top speed. Where, might I ask, did you accomplish this feat? The GTR has a pretty mighty top speed. I'm just wondering what track you supposedly drove it all the way up to that speed.

Also, you are certainly NOT the only person here who has tracked their car. With my Talon, I used to Auto-X, road race, and drag on a very regular basis. I raced in the Street Modified class in SCCA solo, and the car would run 11.2's @ ~130 in the 1/4. So, yea, it saw the track.

And, as referenced earlier in this very thread, the car that initially got me into Auto-X was my E30 M3 back in the day. It only had very minimal bolt on mods, but was a blast to race. I don't race any more, because of a lack or time. But I still have the Talon, sitting in the garage.

No, I'm not in school I graduated two years ago. My friend is a teacher he was doing the project for an all boys art class he teaches and he decided a picture of a car would be more interesting to them and easier to teach.

And I never said I was the only one that has been to a track I said I'm the only person that has taken their car to a track AND taken to its top speed. I did the 178MPH(Not quite top speed sorry) run in Vegas but I can get it going 150MPH on the strait at PIR in Portland.

Well, if we're talking "Not Quite" top speeds, lets just say that I'm not brave enough to find out. With just over 600whp, my Talon will hit ~135 in 1/4 of a mile, and with its current gearing would hit 195 at redline in 5th. I've had it up to about 160-165 before on a couple different road courses, but I don't dare leave my foot in it to find out the real top speed.

Besides, top speed is just a number. And a pretty boring one at that.

ok wait, do you live in CA, or in PDX? i am wondering why you would drive all the way up here just to run the car..

also, is it rHD or US spec?

My buddy was at a mazda deal or something last september or so at PIR and saw a GTR there, but it wasn't running the track, just parked. He said it was RHD, and was the new ones, not an R34.

why not post pics. i certainly would..

i also took my car to the track AND took her to her top speed. I did he latter more often, however:)

Of course I don't have my license yet, just my permit. So actually having this thing is kind of redundant. Or adding insult to injury. Your pick.
