Lots of people on here drive BMWs... which is cool, cause I drive one too, just interesting. German Engineering FTW!

I've noticed that trend myself, and I am a BMW owner myself.
'99 BMW 528i. It's a strong vehicle I tell ya.
Sometime in a couple of years I'll shoot for brand new.

German Engineering FTW!

Totally. Though expensive to repair, most German cars are built very well. I haven't owned a BMW myself, but I owned an '83 Mercedes 300D for a brief time and a couple of weeks ago, I test drove a '92 Mercedes 400E. Man, that thing was near MINT and had 228k on it. I was shocked at the condition it was in. It had a few flaws. (A/C didn't work, bad strut in the front (so the owner said.) and the transmission seemed to slip a bit, but only occasionally. She said she'd have taken $2000 for it, which was a good deal, IMO.

Since I live in a small town, we don't have any Euro-specific mechanics, so I ended up not buying it. If you're interested in seeing the condition of the car, here's a link to some pics of it:

'92 Mercedes 400E

Yes, I know it's not my car, but since we're talking about German engineering, I figured I'd throw this out there.

I sometimes wish I would have bought it, but man, I didn't wanna get it and end up having a problem with it and not have anyone around who could work on it.

+1. I love my VW GTI. And the Germans know how to build a damn safe car too, I was in a bad accident in my 2008 GTI and I walked away without a scratch thanks to that car. I didn't even bother looking at anything else besides a GTI when it was totaled by insurance and I had to buy a new car. Now I have a 2009 GTI :D

Here's Mine:

'02 Nissan Frontier - Crew Cab, Supercharged

And yes, I love my truck and wouldn't have anything else. :) (I DO live in Kentucky, after all.) All stock, save for tint and bed cover. Looking to put a cold air intake on it later to help feed the supercharger (and maybe get a smidge better MPG's, huh?).

Maybe im just extremely unlucky but my 95 540i started dying. Things went wrong and stopped working (ex: CAT went out randomly without any signs on the HIGHWAY. :( )

My car needed new front struts, a transmission gasket, thermostat, and a couple other things.

Sooooo.....Last week i went and bought a brand new Acura TSX Premium. I couldnt be happier.

Ill be posting pics this weekend if the weather is nice (Very optimistic, lol).

BMW is still my fav car company and i definitely will be buying one in the future sometime. But for now i need reliability and great gas mileage :)

Here's a newer photo (although not much has changed. :D )

Mods include Dinan Stage 2 software, Dinan Exhaust, and Dinan Short shifter. Close to 400 crank hp and over 400 ft lb of torque. I need to get it on a dyno soon for real numbers. Next plans are Dinan stage 3 suspension and cold air intake.

My Three Seater Sports Coupe :D

Not much old metal in here, Its al too shiny for me.
Here is Acea, my old girl. A 1972 Series 3 Land Rover. She is my first car, and untill a couple of years ago was my daily drive. She currently has her feet up after being treated to a new set of drums and braded brake hoses. I'm still working on the stearing (its abit poor at the moment) and hopefully I will actually make a start on the engine rebuild which she is desperate for as the "Daily Drive" bit has sort of finished her off..

Oh, and to keep up appearences with all the power hungy number folk on here.. 68bhp, 2 1/4ltr Petrol, Overdive, 0-60 Within a DAY!! Oh, and she has done 78**mph! Top that. Pwwwooarrh! :p

**note 78mph recorded down hill with a prevailing wind

That has got to be close to or faster than the M5!? Due to the weight advantage...

I'm pretty sure I'm still slightly slower than a current gen M3. Not sure how fast the M5's are. The 1 series still weigh a good 3300 lbs or so.

I believe that 3.5 twin turbo engine in those cars is actually faster than the e46 M3? I remember hearing that from a credible source or magazine. They tested the 335i against the old M3 and found the 335i was actually faster, except in the corners of course.

This 135i has the same 3.5 so I'd imagine that it lights the old M3 on fire? Correct me if I'm wrong :)

A stock 335i and e46 m3 are pretty close in straight line acceleration. The 135i will have a slight edge since it's a bit lighter (than the 335i), but the e46 m3 will destroy both cars on a track.

The N54 engine is actually a 3.0l, not a 3.5l. It's sort of misleading since they call them 335 and 135.

335 and 135 just sound so much cooler than 330 and 130. ;)

Seems like BMW used to be much better about representing the true displacement of the car/engine with its model name in the past. now they just go with whatever sounds cool :D.

Haha, well here is mine right before I got it. It looks even better now since it got all nice and cleaned up.

I've been driving it around for a bit. It's not a bad ride at all. It's a nice curb hugger and runs strong, just what I expect from a BMW.
The only thing I don't typically care for is when I step off the gas, it decelerates quickly, while I like a car that when you step off the gas, that it keeps coasting for a bit. Plus, it's a 5 series, and when I like some power to fly (not at speeding rates, just to hear that beautiful engine power) I get the power of the engine, but the car doesn't fly like a 3 series, but that's ok!
It's a great ride! IF you BMW folks have any questions, you can PM me! :)
