I love Lian Li cases. I have a PC-A71 rebranded Rocketfish and it is the best case ever. Cable management sucks but that's what Dremels are for. ;)

Need a fan in the side and maybe a window.

In reality, the best one would cost well over $10,000 (U.S, but it doesn't matter anyways.)

Not really. At this time top of the line at this time is around $6000 without shopping around and without display, but much better deals can be had. If you spend 10k, maybe ther performance is a few percent more, unless you spend money into over clocking and cooling.

Case: $100 (depends on what you want)
Mobo: $500
Processor: Quad extreme, say $2000 (unlikey to cost that much)
RAM: $500
3x GPU: $600 *3
Power Supply $300
RAID card: $300 (hum will this even fit with the 3x GPU?)
Harddrives: 2 x $200 (say fast 10k or 15k disks) or SSD.
Fast SSD would cost a lot more.

If building a quietcomputer then need more money.

BTW, price is dropping all the time. What I spent close to 2k last fall is worth less than 1k after 3 seasons.

Once again like others have said, no one makes the best gaming rig other than yourself. Voodoo and other websites charge a tun for hardware that if your price out individually is A LOT cheaper. But that's just my opinion, I've been building mine for the last 10 years.

I've been into computers for more than 30 years! I just wanted opinions. I clearly got a lot more than that.

Mine was just an opinion:), I can't see anything that has a nicer fit and finish than MurderBox, plus they will do custom work no problem!

i'm a big fan of voodoo pc's work, and falcon northwest's work. i build my own gaming machines tho, because i'm not rich enough to afford their work.

He asked who makes the BEST not who makes an average gaming rig. You wont get the BEST case like a 'cooler master cosmos s' for $100, you might get an average case though. You wont get even average SSD hard drives for $200. How about water cooling? forgot that, your only real stats are the mobo and processor costs. Btw your PSU costs are way high, unless your running a space shuttle.

Not really, a 1kW Silverstone, enermax or Corsair all clock in at the ~$300 area.

Picked up some fun new hardware the other day.

Dell Precision 650

-- Dual 3.06GHz Intel Xeons, with hyperthreading (Four threads. So, like 3 cores. :D)
-- 3GB RAM
-- Dual 80GB HDDs in RAID 0
-- Like, the first nVidia quadro ever. Will be replaced with X1950 XTX soon.

IBM xSeries 335 1U Rackmount Server

-- Dual 2.8GHz Intel Xeons with hyperthreading
-- 2.5GB RAM
-- Dual 40GB HDDs in RAID 1

w00t!

I may make the Precision my main computer. It has the advantage of being nearly silent. I can also sell the big rig and the server and buy a MacBook and new bike! :D:D:D

BTW, how much might a server like that sell for?

I don't think you built them yourself!
