Someone mentioned about underclocking CPU in OSX to reduce temperature. Turning off a core does the same thing.
oh righto, i thought the topic was on GPUs haha! my mistake.
how does one turn off a core?

LOL. My graphics card and power supply cost more than that.
If you want to make it a pissing contest, my videocard or my case or my ram or my cooling system or my hdds all EACH cost more than that(and my mobo comes close, so does my CPU). At least he is getting a machine, that's what is important.
@iMpathetic: What version of catalyst are you using? Have you tried tossing another videocard in there to see if it does the same. Also, are you doing a clean install(new install of Windows) or just layering it on top? If you are just layering: make sure you removed the old drivers or you are borked.
Before installing catalyst you have video though right?

Who manufacture those motherboards? So messy, but I might finally be able to get my case out to the powder coaters monday(still waiting on my dad to bring me a drill and pick up his new computer).
Who manufacture those motherboards?
I am thinking of building a i7 webserver but would that board and Dominator GT 7-8-7-20 be stable as a webserver?
Is there a board with the same colorscheme but with 6 memory slots?
Mine is stable but your mileage my vary. The only board I know of with this same colour scheme and 6 dimms is the EVGA Classified:

Wow, a clear case -- haven't seen one of those in a while. How did you like it?
I sold my PC about 5 months ago. But, I still remember the specs and I have some pictures. It was very cheap to make.
