Due an update now. I want something with actually buttons ideally because the only touchscreen I've used and liked is the iPhone's and I can't afford one of those so...

I got my 1st phone in the UK in 1999 on t-mobile, then in 2001 changed to t-mobile USA then in 2007 went to AT&T for the iphone. Never had a flip phone, clamshell or a slider phone. Always had GSM with sim cards, and most of the time I unlocked them all and resold them. Oh and I also had a panasonic slim phone a while back but have no idea what model it was, and it was junk so I didn't keep it for long.

First, a Motorola V220.
motorola%20v220.jpg

Then after losing it in a taxicab in Shanghai, a Motorola E398.
motorola_e398_phone_%2848732%29.jpg

Then I got tired of Motorolas and their terrible, slow UIs. Enter the W550c. What a great little phone!
sony-ericsson-w550-combo.jpg

Upon moving back to Canada, a Nokia 6300; one of the sleekest, most minimalist and wonderful designs ever. I still keep it around just in case.
Nokia_6300.jpg

Then, briefly, I yearned for a Sony Ericsson again. Another great little phone.
859-453bbb575a577.jpg

Finally my current first-gen iPhone. I'll use the hell out of it for another year, then I'll finally spend all my stored-up credit and get the latest smartphone from whoever; Blackberry, Apple, Nokia or Sony Ericsson. Can't wait!

Damian is a Phone WHORE, LOL!

^ you are ... that is WAY too many phones to go through. I've probably had about half of those phones in about the same amount of years too.

currently I'm using this ... back to my old bread & butter, money shaker.
Downloading a 130MB file in a 3rd party browser directly to my smartphone, and not only listen to it, but add it to an existing playlist that was sync'd from iTunes, and sync'd back to my iTunes music playlist directly ... is pure bliss.

hmm, ive had more phones in 4 1/2 years than most people i know.
first phone was my moto v170 gophone, no frills flip phone and was fine for a first phone.
˚ one my friend gave to me when he got a new one, it was a moto v551.
˚ a Sony Ericsson Z520a, it was cool for its time with the flashing lights and decent camera, started me on SE's.
˚a SE w300i, first full fledged music phone.
˚ SE W810i, great camera and music player.
˚ Nokia N75, first (and only N series on at&t, wish theyd get another one.)
˚ my first iPhone 2G 8GB, i saved up months for it.
˚as a backup, i bought a Moto Q9h, great keyboard.
˚Bought a white 16gb 3G on launch day.
˚Sold the moto and bought a refurb ATT tilt as a backup. (have android on it now)

Now im just waiting for the next iPhone. :)

God, this thread brings back memories haha.

My list so far is:

  • Nokia 3310
  • Sagem MyX6 (This was a beast with its infra red!)
  • Sony Ericsson T610 (Whoa, bluetooth?! Amazing phone, lost it on the bus :(
  • Sony Ericsson K608i (Good phone, but the camera cover always slid open in my pocket. The battery never lasted long)
  • Nokia 3250 was the next one I think. Got it off my friend who picked it up in dubai so it had an arabic keyboard!
  • Nokia 6300 next, probably had this phone the longest. Still have it, actually.
  • First entry into smart phones, T-Mobile G1. Amazing phone, just shame about the battery and the chin when it came to texting. Traded it in for money as the battery life was crap, but regretted doing this in a month or two. Went back to my 6300.
  • And finally, got an iPhone 3GS start of last month! Amazing phone, but I miss the customisation that I had with the G1 (Can't jailbreak, week 52 iphone :(

I dont remember what model the first one was...

1st - Kyocera ???
2nd - Kyocera Candid
3rd - Motorola Razr v3m
4th - Samsung Hue
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th - LG EnV 3 (It's been replaced 3 times due to battery and software issues... Verizon is run by monkeys in my town...)

Hopefully the 9th will be something better...

it does look like a pretty sweet phone! nice features. the price scares me though :(

It can hold its own, and its based on Linux - although the kernel is open, only nokia uses Maemo ... something they SERIOUSLY need to fix else it'll follow the same hate-fate in North America as S60 has for the past 11yrs! (Mexico & Canada have significantly higher penetration of S60 than USA but its still weak).

You can wait until Maemo6 arrives on a few more devices in late November this year. Personally I got bored of Nokia's stagnant innovation and reliance on being the "fat cat" when it came to making smartphones for the top dog. E71 was a pleasure to use but it paled to the competition. N900 fails as well because only 2 3G bands.

Christmas 2004 I think. Siemens MC60. First phone, £120 payg. I loved it, even though it was pretty much crap in every way. Hardly anyone I knew had a camera phone though. Still have it, 'cause it still works. If you know how to use it to avoid freezing it up, which takes some skill.

siemens_mc60.jpg

February 2006. Motorola ROKR, which was actually a pretty good wee phone. Great battery, nice buttons, good camera (I thought). Loved it. £120 payg again.

motorola-rokr-e1-angle2-thumb.jpg

September 2007. Left the ROKR on the bus. Gutted. Forward the SE k800i. Pretty good phone, except for the shoddy battery life and how hot it got when you were on the phone for more than 5 minutes. And it would randomly turn itself off sometimes. Pretty awesome camera though. Pictures good enough to set as desktop photos. It didn't really freeze and was quick and easy to use. I liked it. And yes, it was beastingly thick. I didn't care.

Came attached to the one and only contract I ever had or ever will take out. Cost me a bloody fortune. (I hate 3 mobile)

SonyEricssonK800ilimitededitionsilv.jpg

January 2009 - 2nd hand iPhone 2G. Mint condition, £100, yes please. First phone that doesn't have something not quite right with it.
1236119352-980.jpg

December 2009 - iPhone 3Gs. Returned. It didn't feel 2 years newer than my £100 iPhone. Was really rather unimpressed. Will be holding on to the 2G for a good while now.

I've had this for almost four years, I will be getting a new phone soon with Verizon. Anyone have a Palm Pre Plus and Nexus One? I will be deciding between the two of these, any opinions would be appreciated.
