So annoyed right now!
I ordered on the morning of the 10th via Premier, everything still says backordered. Just spent 45 mins on hold before I got to speak to a Premier rep, he said my order was submitted on the 10th but didn't get processed till the 16th, so I missed the initial batch and will have to wait 7-14 days for the next one.
I asked what caused the processing delay a couple of times and he basically danced around the question. First he tried to say they had so many orders and I didn't order soon enough. When I mentioned that I knew the cut-off date was the 12th, and I ordered the morning of the 10th, he then said it wasn't order date that mattered, it was proccessing date that mattered, and due to their processing back log I ordered too late to make the cut-off. So I mentioned that I know people who ordered 3 days after me that got their phones today, Finally he said something about an internal error applying the rate plan to my account and that there is nothing he can do to speed up my order, and that I will have to wait 7-14 days for the next batch.
So even though I did everything right, and he admitted the error was on their end, he can't or won't do anything to try and fix the error, or even give me any kind of status other than "7-14 days". Great first experience I am having with AT&T. Makes me wonder what the next 2 years will be like.
I guess I'm going to take the weekend to re-consider my purchase, and if things haven't changed by Monday, I might just cancel and get the Palm Pre. I'd much rather have the 3Gs, but I don't know if I want to deal with AT&T as my provider. My company gets a better discount with Sprint anyway.
