Those currencies aren't bouncing back anytime soon lol. But completely agree - no chance.
Absolutely and Apple was just waiting for this situation to step up prices once again. Apple is being Apple even in the crisis, or somebody was expecting it to do charity in this time?
What is even more humiliating for them is that they have increased prices but I feel like they are giving me even less than before in ratio.

Anyway unless some kind of miracle (for us), they are going to sell again and compensating the lower spending with the price hikes. I guess they've made already their calculations.

I really wish I didn't love 120Hz as much as I do, this price hike wouldn't even be a predicament for me and I'd happily go for an iPhone 12 or 13.

Now it just feels like I'm being priced out of the actual product I want and am forced on settling for a secondary option.
It's strange how some find 120hz a few breaker but not others. I have had it on my ipad pro models since 2017 but never notice not having it on my iPhone or laptops.

The battery is very good on 13 mini. Of course, it is not as good as on bigger phones, but it gets your through the day.
Not what I heard here and there and notably in the professional press. Funny thing to hear the contrary from the actual users.
To be honest, I was quite attracted by the mini in the first place but I need a great battery life as I spend most of my day with my iPhone connected to my Mac with mobile hotspot so the battery melts like crazy. I had to buy the battery case for my 11 Pro in order to fulfill my needs.

In Europe everything is at the top except for some countries which have substantial taxes (Mexico) the only outlier is Switzerland which has a price below the UK, which seems to have avoided most of the brunt of the Europe jump. Luxembourg is surprisingly ‘low’ as well.

Considering both Switzerland and Luxembourg are notoriously expensive countries, this is unusual to say the least.

Electronics are often a bit cheaper here for the latest models of things. Our VAT rate is 7.7% and companies tend to price electronics the same as in the Euro zone. However, with lower VAT the end-price is cheaper.

Don't worry, if they see people supporting their disgusting actions on overpricing these products, you can expect a 1700€ iphone pro 128gb next year, with a 10% faster DYNAMIC ISLAND and same cpu!

And to tell you more, here is -random person-
Amazing post 👏

I don't use my mini for mobile hotspot often, but with regular use without gaming (I don't play games on my phone), YouTube is rather frequent and other social media apps - all is good. Apparently 13 mini is better than 12 mini.

I guess I just have sensitive eyes LOL. Like I said in my initial post, I really wish it wasn't so.

I am a particularly visual person and do creative work for a living, maybe that's why. Not only do I notice it easily, but if I use 120Hz for a while and then shift back to 60Hz, its doubly jarring for me.

I’m in the U.K. and things are tough here for many people but I’ve taken measures to minimise the effect on me and my family. Having an electric car and locking in a good energy deal. Between 1am and 6am it’s incredibly cheap so car, washer and dishwasher are all on timers. I have managed to avoid any price increase until May 2024 and I still get the £400 from the government and the Council Tax Rebate and I never buy petrol. I shall be parting with £2300 for two iPhones for myself and my husband which is quite a lot more than the prices last year. I also locked in prices for our current iPhones nice and early and used any vouchers, and discount codes where I can. We love our iPhones, so by being savvy and making some cuts, we feel we can manage the price increases.

please do not think your experience applies to others. Your relatively small social circle does not warrant a pattern for a continent.

Stats don't lie , iMessage usage across EU is not even listed there because of how low it actually is.

The truth is that the average consumer doesn't need the latest iPhone. Even the 12 is good enough for even the advanced user. Spotify, Yiktok, Safari, YouTube. Instagram and banking apps work identically across the iphone range.

Interestingly two months ago my GF's old iphone died and I temporarily bought her an Oppo a45s with a 6.5 inch display for.......£150.:eek:

What an eye opening device. Side by side with my 11 Pro Max you couldn't guess which one was £150 vs £1,000 retail. The camera, specifically for videos is the only category where a Pro iPhone is in a league of its own.

However if you are not a photo or video buff, the absolute latest iPhone(or smartphone) is not a must have.

How did this topic become a discussion about energy crisis? USD has been extremely strong last 12 months, of course iPhone prices here in Europe will go up.

Anyway, most people buy their phone on a 24 month contract. So the increase won't be that noticeable for the large mass of people.

When USD gets weak later, you expect Apple would decrease prices in Eruo? LOL

I'm in Switzerland and "happy" with the deal I can make. Sure the prices are high, but I can trade in my current 12 Pro.

I will opt for the 512GB iPhone Pro which costs 1'539 CHF, but I will trade my iPhone 12 Pro for 305 CHF to get a final price of 1'234 CHF, which is less than the 1'249 CHF I pad for my 256GB 12 Pro.

305 CHF is a terrible trade in price for a 512GB 12 Pro.... i got like 420.- for my 12 Mini with 128GB.
You should get over 500.-

I sold to these guys. Was very easy and painless.

Same price in Canada as last year, so along with the US Canada got no price increase. I still would’ve probably paid an increased price but glad not to have to.

which country? and do you think some of your shops could sell to other countries?

Money out: 1539 + 1249
Money in: 305

Items in your possession: iPhone 14 Pro and (up to) 2 years' use of the iPhone 12
Cost: Fr. 2'483

For the amount of money they ask, they should have thrown a pair of airpods pro 2 in the package.

You can just go to Switzerland and buy the phone (well, once there's availability). Technically, you should import it into your own country and pay the relevant VAT.

Edited: Macrumors software auto-merged my posts but left the original one as well. D'oh
