yet you still want to...lol

True. It's a joy to use all around.

I'm currently right now as of writing this post at this Chinese restaurant my family frequently goes to. They offer free wifi but it's just not practical to whip out an ipad in between all the plates of food at the table, so my iPod touch will suffice for the time being here

Where have you taken your iPad?

I have had my iPad 3G for 18 days as of today. In this time I have taken it to a hospital, clinic, Borders bookstore, Costco's Wholefoods, relative's house, in my car, my living room, bedroom, and yes, even the bathroom!

At the hospital, clinic, relative's house and Borders, I had people come up to me and ask, "Is that the new iPad?" or "Is it worth it?" or "Looks really cool!". At the clinic, the receptionists behind the counter wanted to see it up close and wanted me to demonstrate using the web, e-mails, etc. Funny, I felt like a salesman! :D Needless to say, all the people who came up to me are thinking of getting one.

Where are some of the places you have taken your iPad and have you had personal encounters, good or bad?

I have taken it to the grocery store. I used the TODO app for my grocery list. I have had my legs go numb using it in the bathroom. I am a sale rep who travels to multiple accounts in a day and I find myself sitting in the parking lot surfing the web. I will have it on the boat this weekend and at a upcoming Detroit Tiger game following along on the MLB app. I take it everywhere!

Work, home, and definitely in the bathroom!

I also like to catch up on Twitter while driving, that's definitely the most fun application of the iPad

I have taken it everywhere: around the house (and yes including the bathroom), girlfriend's grandmas, work (a gym so a lot of people have asked about it), other friends house.

Everywhere I have been I have heard nothing but good things. They all think it is awesome. And the regular question is how long is the battery life?

My iPad has pretty much seen every room in my house. However, it has never left the house. There is no need to take it with me anywhere because I have a PC at work and my iPhone for all other times. I just do not see how anyone could take their iPad grocery shopping. IMO, it is simply too big to whip out.

Home, Speech Therapy, Civil Air Patrol Squadron - mine and another, local Airport, Carrabba's, Occupational Therapy, Disney World parking lot... some of those multiple times.

This coming weekend it goes out of town with me to another CAP Squadron at another airport. It might start getting upset at being at all these airports and never flying.

I know *I* am. :D

I use mine a lot at my work, which is at a gas station. We don't have WiFi so I pocked up the Sprint Overdrive and they work beautifully together. I don't have 4G there, but in a lot of other places I have 4G and it really is fast.

I take it with me when I go to the movies or to the diner, just in case I have to wait.

I took it to Iron Man 2, but just kept it under my jacket during the movie. It was fun on the 15 minute drive to and from as my friend drove, but I wouldn't have and didn't whip it out during the 30 minutes or so of downtime before the previews started (it was a full house so we had to get good seats ;))

My wife, who was slightly against me spending the money on one, has had me "take it out in public" just about everywhere. She has been using it to show our wedding pictures from NYC to our family and friends....she has impressed many a family member with this thing.

The only place I got any sort of "notice" with it was at a freakin' Cracker Barrel...the chick who was taking our money up front noticed it and said "iPad?" kind of tentatively. She asked if it was awesome enough to replace her laptop and I said "oh heck no, not at all, but it is a bad ass supplement"...hope I didn't cost Apple a customer LOL

Just got my Overdrive today, even though I don't have 4g yet...couple of speed tests are putting me at 1.9MPS down, which I found to be extremely favorable considering I'm in a 3g area.

At any rate, this device maybe is defective. It has nowhere near the range of my MBA or iPhone. In fact this could not even see the network in the room that both other devices were connected to.

I will try again, glad to hear that your's does not exhibit near the same symptoms.

Not true the iPad connects stronger to wifi than I touch n iphone

No where yet. I haven't gotten my iPad case it ships june15th. Too scared it's naked right now

Every week or two when work gets crazy and I need some downtime, I go to the restaurant downstairs from my office and have lunch alone. This is also where I use MyWi. It's the kind of restaurant where you see people with ebook readers, and so far no one has come up to try to talk to me about the iPad, which suits me just fine.

When I walk through the mall and take my iPad 3G with me. I get a lot of stares. I was shopping at macys and I got two compliments so far

I take mine to Best Buy to taunt people who can't find one.:) not really.

to the BMW BJ guy, maybe that poor couple at the gas station would have laughed at you and your BMW as the ipad ignited the gas fumes, and poof, up in smoke. It IS magical
