Even better, only allow genetically and physically fit person to buy their iPhone, so they can press all of those buttons without moving iPhone. Genius.Perhaps they should sell a stronger wrist to go with the camera button!

Let me guess. You are definitely not a photog. Hence your creation of this thread.Apple could add something useful instead of the camera button nobody asked for. Like 16GB of RAM, the X80 modem, and a 1-inch main camera sensor. The hardware on the iPhone is quickly falling behind if they don't add these things. But Apple probably doesn't care. It's all about the money!
So power button is useless because my iPhone also moves when pressing it, just not as much. Same for volume control and oh, that action button too. So remove them all?
Exactly. Either these people have extremely weak fingers or they’re complaining just to complain. I’ve used the volume rocker buttons since forever to take a picture, and I’ve never had an issue of “moving the phone all over the place.”I haven't had an issue using it in portrait or landscape. Just a matter of how you grip the thing. It takes a bit to get used to but that's just how it is with hardware changes.
He/she has weak hands and/or fingers. I’d recommend they work on their grip strength. Captains of Crush make great tools to improve one’s grip strength. If you can't press the camera button without the phone moving, then that's a you problem. I have no issues pressing it while keeping the phone completely still.
But by that logic all buttons should go. Besides, human hand holding anything will ALWAYS have shake, just in varying degree. That’s what image stablisation is for.None of them are taking pictures where having the phone stay still matters. 🤷♂️
Why are you talking about other buttons? This thread is about the useless camera button. But by that logic all buttons should go. Besides, human hand holding anything will ALWAYS have shake, just in varying degree. That’s what image stablisation is for.
And, you say none of those buttons take pictures? Action button do. Volume up button do. So what’s the deal?
The volume buttons are also useless, is the point. You can change the volume from control centre, and apps where volume is important (like Music) give you an on screen volume control. Why are you talking about other buttons? This thread is about the useless camera button.
The volume buttons are great. Let’s talk about the useless camera button instead. You can start a new thread about the volume buttons if you like. The volume buttons are also useless, is the point. They serve no purpose though. Entire physical buttons (on an iPhone!) that just duplicate controls that are already in the iOS. How can you justify that? The volume buttons are great.
I don’t know why you want to talk about other buttons. I like the volume buttons. They serve no purpose though. Entire physical buttons (on an iPhone!) that just duplicate controls that are already in the iOS. How can you justify that?
…and your experience is?It’s not difficult to add these things. Any manufacturer can do it.

You're stretching a bit here (trolling a bit?) just to try to prove your point.![]()
It's still a useless camera button.Absolutely. But I’m trying to point out, through example, that a) they shouldn’t remove something from the phone because he doesn’t personally like it, and b) key functions can justify their own physical button, even when the same action can be performed through the on-screen UI.
Watch Vadims video. Pressing it shakes the phone. You get blurry images. Utterly useless button.Sigh. How often do you press it and it fails to open the camera?
