You gotta be trolling, aren’t ya?
It was quite obvious (at least to me) that an OLED display won’t change anything. Just more oversaturated colors, flickering, probably burn out in 5-10 years perspective.
I have had multiple OLED devices and believe me I know what I am talking about, these are not game changers and never have been.
I still remember those posts on MacRumors forum where people asked Apple to add OLED because every Android phone already had it. They have added it, aaaaand? Nothing really changed. I can barely tell difference in iPhone 15 and iPhone SE displays except for the slight brightness increase and oversaturated colors in 15, and my eyes get tired faster
But people need deep blacks when surfing the web or when watching unboxing videos on YouTube because it makes their web experience that much better. Yes the very first thing I judge when going to a website is how deep those blacks are.
100 gram, 0.5mm thick iPad
10,000 nits brightness
1 month battery life
Then maybe I consider it. What people tend to forget is that OLED is still vulnerable to burn in. I expect to be hearing all the horror stories 3 months from now on all the burn in iPads. This is Apple's very first try at OLED so in a way it's a beta project.
