I keep looking for signs, the fact I can't add an item has to be good sign.

I think in the next couple of days we will see them ship............... please :D

So do I! Any sign! Finally finding that Fuji drive in a store online (even though it says available in 28 days) is a good sign, and no add an item is a good sign too!

It'll happen, hopefully sooner than expected!

Me either! But at least we have each other!
Yeah, man. This thread has become something of a daily support group for me... everyday I realize it's not shipping yet, but I come to this thread and read about everyone else not getting theirs either...

Same here, we're the 15" 7200rpm waiters' club!

anyone else suspect that the real reason for the delay is to convince people to buy the pricier 17" that has the older, non-LED display? perhaps if they have a limited supply of the 7200rpm drives, they want to use them to push these high profit-margin units. well tough luck, apple! ;) 15" is already almost too big!

For what it's worth, I'd like to add my voice to the support group. I'm waiting on a 15" 160gb 7200rpm. I've got a July 18th ship date. I'm in Canada and I ordered within hours of the announcement.

In some ways I feel like this is just an extension of the purgatory I was in just waiting for the announcement of the new MBP's. That took ages. I can wait a bit longer, but it's disappointing to see others with their shiny new MBPs and I'm still stuck with my old iBook G3 700mhz (well loved, but showing its age).

Wait, Fuji? I thought the 7200 rpm 160GB drive in the MBP was the new Seagate model? I am kinda confused here; clarification would be great.

It's a Seagate in the 17" ones, but until a 15" model ships we have no idea. Maybe the 17" model is getting priority over the 15" since not as many were ordered, who knows.

I'm still waiting for my Macbook Pro with that particular hard drive. Ordered 6th June, and my current estimate for delivery is the 12th July. What's cruel is that the mouse I ordered showed up only a couple of days later. I now also have a keyboard and a stand that are getting lonely and impatient for the laptop to arrive.

We've just bought a new house too, and I've been hoping that it would arrive before we moved. Time has run out though and I've been forced to call Apple to change the shipping address. Apparently the Order Status is absolutely right and it really hasn't shipped. I was also told that the huge delay on 7200 is due to their unavailability. Which is just lovely, I thought. Would it have killed them to stick a big "unavailable" or "out of stock" logo next to it on the order page?

2007 is definitely the "Waiting Year" for me and my partner! Roll on 2008 :)

Just wanted to add my name to the 7200rpm waiting group.I ordered my MBP the day these new LED ones came out and i have a July 18 ship date. ugh.

After reading the other forum topics here about the bad laptops some people have gotten, is anybody else here afraid of the worst possible situation:

- the MBP arrives at the end of July only to have that yellow-tint screen issue or some other problem
- i call apple about it, then have to wait for them to send me one of their prepaid fedex boxes to ship it back to them
- they review and repair/replace it and i finally get it back... which may end up being sometime in mid august!

this is causing me to seriously consider just canceling and buying the 5400rpm version in-store so if there's a problem i can easily return it and get a replacement within the day.

anybody else been going back and forth on this?

far be it from me to make some comment like "i'm sure everything will be fine" and thus completely jinx my new mbp when it arrives... but i'm not worried. with a few notable exceptions, hardware issues appear deceptively common, because negative reports are over-represented in forums. the only yellow-tinge report i read was a single source who said it was noticeable at extreme viewing angles. everything else i've read about the 15" SR mbps has been positive. do you have links?

If there were a store located anywhere near me I would consider it.

I too am waiting for the 7200 15 inch and it will be the first Mac. I ordered on the first day they came out and have a shipping date of July 18. To pass the time waiting for my new computer, I began visiting these forums and after reading about the various problems (LED yellow tints, kernel panics, etc.), I too have begun to second guess my order. Posters in the forums make it sound like it is impossible to return a BTO machine. I have thought about changing my order to a stock machine just in case there is something wrong with it when it finally arrives. We have none of the new machines in the entire state so it isn't possible for me to even see one. I think the worrying is almost worse than the wait! I certainly hope none of us will be disappointed!

I have owned several apple products and have never been disappointed. People are allot more likely to post a complaint or a problem than something positive. I am confident that the great majority of MacBook Pros being sold are problem free.
Thats my opinion at least.

I hope not to jinx myself, but I have owned many Apple products and I have never been disappointed either. Even with new release items like this, everything has always been perfect and I have confidence in this order. The forums are always buzzing with complaints because this is where people turn for help. :apple:

Hope you crossed your fingers before posting. No seriously, I want to thank all for your encouraging words about Apple products. And I have decided to quit reading all the negatives posted in the forums and just wait until my computer gets here. Hopefully for all our sakes, the wait won't be too excruciating! Maybe we will get a pleasant surprise with an earlier shipment than predicted.

Yes, I had my fingers crossed!

I just keep hoping to see someone saying theirs shipped, or their credit card was charged, or some kind of sign that they're finally going out! :(

I ordered at 9-6 and the payment was done at 18-6 and this is the estemate I got

Expected shipment date: 31 Jul, 2007.
Expected delivery date: 09 Aug, 2007.

Looks like I'll have to wait for almost two months... :S Bummer they started counting the 4-6 weeks from the day of payment and not from the actual order date...

Same problem here. Hi btw, another victim of the 7200 delay :) But oké it's my first mac, so waiting a month longer, why not. I don't know what I miss yet.

But about that problem, they count my shipment date also from the day of payment. So we have a

Expected shipment date: 26 Jul, 2007.
Expected delivery date: 08 Aug, 2007.

You're not alone ;)
