Whatever y’all do, do NOT click on the article from Forbes that has the headline: Samsung suddenly Reveals Potential Galaxy S10 Cancellation.
I never really paid close attention before but I thought the name Forbes was supposed to be reputable. I vaguely remember reading interesting articles on Forbes. Now though? May as well get your tech news now from The National Enquirer. Hell, even The Daily Mail occasionally has decent articles.
That article has NOTHING to do with anything solid or even leaky about the S10. They’ve just speculated “will they or won’t they” drop the headphones jack. We could sit here and debate that with about as much solid information as that stupid piece of clickbait.
Seriously what has happened to journalism? I suppose we bear part of the responsibility as readers for wanting everything for free. Actually I am fine with paying but it’s a huge pain in the butt to manage all of my individual subscriptions. If Apple or Google or someone else wants to consolidate the billing and payments for one news portal that feeds into the individual publications, that would be great. Maybe there already is that sort of service. I would look into it if it would raise the quality of journalism.
Now, getting back to the S10, well I really like the looks of the dots and oval. But yeah I’m a little apprehensive about how kludgy the solution might be for displaying info around them. Please oh please let there be no lag involved. I do think they will design something custom because they do for the stupid curved edge. Samsung lives for this sort of extreme customization. I both admire and want to kick them for it.
I hope this dotty design will be the trend for Android going forward. I am not fond of notches. But that’s just me. Everyone is free to wish for whatever their heart desires. Doesn’t mean anyone is going to make the effort to give any of us what we want.
