Maybe it is the lighting but that looks more like a copper, then a gold. I wonder what colors the note 9 will come in. I wish they would bring back emerald green, or do a Ruby red.

These pastels from the past few years are lackluster IMO.

Agree it looks more like copper. I like that look!

It finally arrived.

Came at 8 this morning.

Haven’t had a chance to open it yet will have to wait until my kids go to bed tonight.

Opened the box and found these. Guess they are a free gift.

Do we still get the earbuds in the box too? (Haven’t opened it yet)

Always On Display, a built in feature. In a case or your pocket the display is off but in the light the AOD will show notifications etc.

I want it to turn the screen on so I can read the preview of the notification - this way, o can decide whether I unlock the phone to review the message or ignore until later.

I had the S8 and, while it was a great phone, I couldn't really get on with Samsung. Did they change the Bixby button on the left? Is it mappable to something else or can you only disable Bixby?

Disable. You can use third party apps to re-map it if you'd like.

The button is utterly stupid and useless, but really doesn't hamper the experience.

Is there anyway to create custom vibration patterns for notification? I'm not a fan of the double vibrate for some notifications and prefer just the single vibrate pattern.

Based on this hands-on, the Sunrise Gold looks stunning: https://www.androidcentral.com/sunrise-gold-samsung-galaxy-s9

Wish I knew this was coming out. I like my Coral Blue, but would have gotten this if it was available.
Not a fan of gold myself and my S7 was gold only because at the time, it was that or black and I like black even less. However the S9 face is black no matter the color you get and since I always have a case on my phone's, the color don't matter.

So I've got a decent glass screen protector on which doesn't distort the screen or effect touch sensitivity. Only problem is that it's not allowing me to use the iris scanner or face unlock.

Enjoying my S9 plus so far. I had the note 8 last year so many of the software features I’m familiar with. Really like the dual speakers and have been having fun trying out the variable aperture on the camera.

Still getting used to the new placement for the FPS as I was used to it’s original placement on the note 8. Intelligent scan seems to be a lot better and it’s good that you can use both face unlock and iris scanning together.

I’ve ordered a gear VR as I’ve never tried it before so looking forward to finally seeing what it’s like.

But all in all I’m impressed with the phone and I love the colour too.

Also AR emojis aren’t as bad as people were making out. Obviously they came out before memoji’s but I like the idea that it resembles you rather than a talking poop. The fact that they can be used with any messaging app is also better. I’ve already sent some of the gifs on what’s app. I’ve never sent any of the animojis because none of my contacts use iMessage anymore.

The S9+ is an incredible device. A complete smartphone package.

Too bad it's not selling well.

Yeah it is.. with the battery being it's Achilles

I'm looking forward to the Note 9 with S9+ features, S-Pen, and a large battery! That, to me, will be a complete package.

Had my June security patch on my unlocked S9 plus last week. My husband’s note 8 is still one the May patch.

I Probably won’t get another security updates for months now though.

Essential phone got July days ago.

Quarterly updates are being mentioned. Any phone that shipped with Oreo or later should benefit from Treble. Take updates out of the hands of carriers.

I've had the June patch for seems like a month now. A few weeks anyways, but these aren't that big a deal to me. I never get a firmware update such as Oreo 8.1. Never got past 7.0 on my S7 but as long as it runs good and everything is working, that's fine. I really don't notice much difference from 7.0 to 8.0.

Not had my July patch yet but did get an update on Monday.

I’m not holding my breath with security updates. They’ll come when they come. I’m doing quite well to be only a month behind. I remember my note 8 was still stuck on the August patch when I sold it in December last year. They will come eventually.

On another note my gear VR came on Monday and I’ve been able to use it a few times. I really like it. Think it’s quite good for the price. Obviously I know there are better standalone devices but I’d rather pay the same or a bit more for a phone with all its capabilities including dex that can also do VR than just a VR headset.

I’ve played a few games, and watched some videos on Netflix. Watching Star Trek discovery on Netflix was awesome and so far I’ve liked one of the rollercoaster games. Also liked this app that did a tour of Anne Frank’s house. Haven’t been able to use it a lot so far but I’m impressed with the amount of content available for it. Many of the reviews I’d seen previously said there wasn’t a lot of content available.

Glad I finally got to try it out this time.

Also enjoying the camera. Using the variable Aperture has been great for indoor shots with limited light. My iPhone X struggles indoors especially after a certain time but I’ve been getting great shots on my S9 plus.

No performance issues but then I don’t expect any as I’ve not had any going as far back as the S4.

Another thing I appreciate now having used the iPhone X is the ability to swipe down anywhere on the screen and get access to my notifications and control panel. This is very neat and much needed because the way apple have handled it on the X isn’t helpful.

Red Would have been nice. I do love my lilac purple phone though.

I was going to get the lilac color but in the end, I decided on the black simply because I like black cases because they don't show discoloration and dirt buildup all that much and the camera lens just blends in perfectly as well.

Can you post a picture of your phone without a case? I just want to see the back side of the phone if you don't mind.

Also, I have the unlocked version and I have the June 1st update which is surprising.

My old unlocked S7 Edge doesn't have Oreo yet whereas my T-Mobile S7 Edge does.
