Other Sept 28 - Oct 5 Delivery Dates

I got mine yesterday, as scheduled. Day and half in ZZ. UPS took control Thursday night and followed through for Monday delivery.

Is this really a UPS thing in ZZ, or a Chinese customs thing? Ironic customs seem a lot slower this year. Could it be retaliation for sanctions and tariffs? I know this is political, sorry. Just ironic this year and never before.

Just spoke with Apple - they told me that the delays in ZZ are due to a typhoon in China and that emails have been sent to customers informing them of this. I haven’t received an email. That said, I did a quick Google search and found news reports from 9/18 of a pretty bad typhoon in China. If this is the cause I do of course get it but don’t understand why it took 5 days to get this info.? Also, got a free Belkin wireless charger for my wait so I at least feel better knowing this information. I would be interested in seeing if others are told this as well?

What a joke. Lol. Five days it sat there. My cc was charged. The return date counting. I expected my phone along side my wife’s phone.

Just contacted Apple and they are showing nothing wrong with the charge and that it is still showing up on their end and the the representative had never encountered that problem. They said to just wait and see if the charge shows back up. but if Apples system wants to give me my phone for free I wont complain.

On chat with Apple support. They apologize for the initial 9/26 and say rescheduled delivery is 9/28.

I was going to take off from work Friday. Guess I need to re-plan that.

I asked why it was delayed, rep didn't answer or didn't say. No offer of a wireless charger either, but I didn't complain too much lol. I should have let my wife talk to them . She would have had no problem.

I'll be honest, I was excited to see the 25th on Apple's tracking page for a possible delivery date but when I placed my order it clearly said 28th-5th so if I get the phone between now and the 5th I'll be perfectly happy. I certainly don't think Apple owes me anything for my patience.

The Typhoon is 300 miles east of Taiwan......more than 1000 miles east of ZZ.......its not the Typhoon but rather their holiday or delayed for other reasons. The UPS flights paths out of china to the US go nowhere near the typhoon. Might has well blamed Hurricane Florence.

So weird update. Just checked that I got an email from UPS My Choice that I have a package scheduled for tomorrow. Tracking number is different from my iPhone tracking, signature required. Wondering what it could be I clicked on it.

Origin scan is Louisville... is this my iPhone? I have nothing else that would require signature to deliver. My original tracking is still not showing delivery date and still in ZZ. CONFUSED!

This is the second iPhone preorder I have done. The other was for the 7 and it got delayed a day, I believe for weather reasons. They did deliver on a Saturday. That was no ones fault just bad luck.

I wasn't even supposed to be getting the phone this week so it was a surprise when it shipped. Then the tracking showed receiving it today so that was a bigger surprise. While this is disappointing for getting our hopes up we was not even supposed to be getting the phones today.

In the grand scheme of things this is just a phone. A month from now not receiving it when we had thought will mean nothing. Just be thankful we can afford a phone like this to begin with. There was a time in my life I would never been able to get one.

I just figured out it is my Xs Max leather case, lol. UPS gettin my hopes up. I didn’t realize they need signature to deliver... just checked order page and followed case’s tracking number and shows the same page. Oh well! Still don’t know my iPhone delivery time, or if it is still in ZZ (probably).
