Oak Brook, IL store has them. I just picked up 2...11:30AM CDT.

No keyboards though

Interesting. Did you ask about the iPad Pro itself? It seems that the 128GB model is nowhere to be found in Chicago, at least not for pickup. Not that I care, since I have one reserved for pickup when I make a trip out to Oregon next weekend (but I'd like to get a Pencil for it and am not confident in my Staples pre-order arriving on the 19th like they say).

I picked up "the last one" from Dadeland in Miami, FL through the Business Team. My sources on the inside tell me they've been getting some but the business team have been hoarding them for business customers and purposefully keeping them outside of sellable inventory so the general public can't purchase them.
Do you have a business account? How do you go through the business team?

Spoke to the Manager at Knox Street Store in Dallas today, he said they had received 4 total so far.
Southlake Tx DFW store 3:30 pm Thursday after ordering 2:10 am Wednesday for in store pickup and then inventory not available. Rep said first one she had delivered. Keyboard picked up Fort Worth store 4:30 pm Friday after Wednesday am order for in store then not available when got there, and Apple cancelled my order.

Congrats above, but jeez! What's with Apple's focus on the UK for the Apple Pencil? First the UK had more in stock on day 1 than pretty much anywhere else, and now you guys are getting shipments delivered 1-2 weeks earlier than customers from other countries who ordered at the same time.

Is there a disproportionate amount of artists in the UK or something?

This is outrageous. Apple knows that this item is in high demand, and yet they are withholding saleable stock from customers. Every customer should be treated the same, regardless of how much they intend to purchase. This product launch has been disgusting.

The UK has low market share for Apple Products. Secondly 70% of all the people you are making money off of are true believers. It makes sene to cater to your fanbase otherwise your fanbase moves on. Not sure of the logic here tbqh....

Business are always late to the tech party. If consumers adopt businesses will support. To make the consumer experience worse it probably not the best move Apple could make IMO. The only reason businesses adopted the iPhone in corporate world was their emploees/iPhone consumers demanded it.

I agree, interestingly on Wednesday when I went to go pick up my iPads and cases at two different stores they both asked me I was going to use it for business. I've never had Apple ask me if a device I was purchasing for business use when I was in the store. It struck me as an odd question and odd they both asked me that about the Pro, they seem hyper focused on business with this product. I mean maybe they normally ask that I've just never noticed.

Just of note: yesterday I was at the Apple Store in Salem NH to get the silicone case. (Not happy how Apple makes you spend 2x as much for a complete case now but I digress).

The specialist there said that they are starting to get them in daily. He said they got 5 in that morning which promptly sold out, and to check daily because they do seem to get a few in each day. Of course I missed it.

I was finally able to pick up a pencil late last week and got to admit am very impressed with it. Responsiveness is fantastic and palm rejection is better than anything I have used in the past. Hopefully we'll see some good dev evolution app wise to take advantage of the power and size of the IPP along with better pencil integration across more apps. Of course also need to see Apple rework their apps for the bigger screen size first, like mail :)

do freelance artists count as business custommers? Lol

I do a lot of commission based work from home, and would definitely be using pencil in that process. Wonder if that would count. (Kidding.) :D

I hope they aren't hoarding them for business customers though.

The best way to summarize my retail store pencil experience is to imitate the adults on every Peanuts cartoon ever: "mwah mwah, wah-wah mwah blah mwah."

Just a giant buzzkill, prolonging my gratification, sucking all the joy and innocence out of life :D

I don't think they are withholding saleable stock to be fair. I'm a business user and I contacted my local retail store's business team on Friday and they weren't able to help me as there is no stock available. However they have promised to let me know as soon as any stock comes in which I think is a reasonable expectation of a business team.

You should also bear in mind that this is an iPad Pro accessory and the Pro stands for Professional so it doesn't seem unreasonable for them to prioritise professional, business sales over those of curious consumers who might end up deciding this product isn't actually for them and return it. Business users are much less likely to return their Pencils or other products.

The best way to combat scalpers is to be a helpful neighbor and report any sightings of this rare beast immediately

Well so far I'm seeing nothing on Sunday.... Anyone have any reports of Sunday deliveries of the Apple Pencil?

Apple is supposedly a company that prioritizes customer service and equality. This is a slap in the face of every customer. Having a business team to promote Apple products to businesses is fine, but this is a mainstream product launch. When product is scarce, everyone should be treated equal.

Firstly, you are assuming that some sort of inequality is actually happening. There seems to be some anecdotal evidence of this but that might just be a consequence of the business team having a different structure and priorities which enables them to look after their customers more proactively than the general sales team can do for general consumers.

If you think there is inequality then report it to the executive team at Apple. No point huffing and puffing at injustice in the world if you're not prepared to back it up with action. I know I would if I was on the receiving end of injustice.

Guys, guys, let's not continue to get pissed regarding Pencil scarcity. Really the only one that's hurting is yourself with all the rage :p

Well it's become something fun for me to rove around the forums hunting for sightings of the rare Pencil, but if you're feeling worked up find something else to do haha... It'll come eventually, but worrying about it won't make it come faster. In the meantime pre-order online (Best Buy / Staples / Apple Store / etc.) to hedge your bets in case you don't get lucky

Rage? I'm fresh out! lewisd25 on the other hand has enough for all of us I think :p

I've got a Pencil on back-order and expect to get that in the next 7 days or so. If I get a call from the business team in the meantime then even better but I'm not holding my breath.

The way I look at it, I get to enjoy my iPad Pro as a tablet, then as a graphics tablet and then for the third time as a laptop replacement when the keyboard arrives. It's like getting a new device three times! :D
