Question: What's the default colour accent for the silver iMac in Finder and the rest of the OS? Is it silver/grey or blue? The other iMacs have matching colour accents so I was just wondering if the same applies on the silver model.
They're blue.

What function does the hole have?I have it
You don't have to be on WiFi, but WiFi needs to be turned on (I'm assuming this works over WiFi-Direct, similar to AirDrop). If you have Ethernet above WiFi in your service order (network settings), your iMac will still use the Ethernet connection for everything else.I hate that you have to be on wifi to use it. My entire house is wired with cat6 so pretty much everything is hard wired and it doesn't make sense to not use my iMac hard wired just for sidecar. it should honestly work if both devices are on the same network.
Ooof…..when “keeping it real” goes too far. 😂Yes, I really work from this spot ...
It's a Dell S2719DC. I needed an external monitor with 500 nits brightness so I could see the screen in my well-lit office during the day. This was the best compromise between size, price, brightness, and resolution that I could fine. I do recommend it even though its not a retina screen. I scratched the Dell logo off the front so I didn't have to stare at it anymore.Which screen is that?
Thanks. I'm tempted, but I think I'll wait to see how big the larger iMac will be (not too big I hope). No complaints here, it's awfully close to a 2560x1440 so feels fine having both side by side.
Did you have to use DisplayLink or is it straight USB C/Displayport?It's a Dell S2719DC. I fixed it for you. You order PINK not redFrom this thread, what Ive learned is this:
From the back, I like: blue, green, and purple.
From the front, I like: green, yellow, and PINK
Since I’d push the monitor against a wall and need to stare at the pastel chin, I’d probably get the green or yellow. 🤷🏻♂️

The interface elements on the 24" retina and 27" non-retina (2560x1440) are drawn at the same physical size. A window that measures 2" x 2" on the retina screen also measures 2" x 2" on the non-retina screen. But the retina screen is noticeably sharper, and personally I think this makes the biggest impact for reading/writing text. A single pixel on the non-retina screen becomes 4 pixels on the retina screen. I don't feel fatigue working with both monitors side by side.@ uller6
@SsSsSsSsSnak
You therefore ultimately confirm that the size of the elements, menus, icons, etc. in the 24" is exactly the same as the 27", with the difference that the 24" is retina and therefore everything is displayed in a brilliant way and almost without noticing the pixels? I want to understand if at different sizes there will be no fatigue in reading and use because the graphical interface is the same size.
I use the USB-C connection. I've tried USB-C to DisplayPort adaptors with other Dell monitors and for some reason they all seem to go haywire with Macs. I get screen blackouts and freezes every few minutes. I haven't had this issue with USB-C external monitors. The external display is incredibly fast to turn on/off and doesn't have the strange screen freezes and artifacts that I thought were completely normal with Intel machines.Did you have to use DisplayLink or is it straight USB C/Displayport?
Was just thinking the same thing. They are meant to be used all day. Easily the best computer screen I've used. Turn on true tone and then it's the very best viewing environment IMO.Damn. The screens on these things are so nice to use.![]()
You bought an iMac just to complement your rose quartz. Respect.
Aw that's a nifty little stand for the iPad. Can you pair that keyboard to the iPad? Then you would need just one keyboard! As per the title, let's see your 24" iMacs in their new homes.
I'll kick it off with mine.

Tried to check them out an an apple store...but couldn't even walk around the store due to max capacity....I had to make an appointment. The whole apple store dynamic is becoming a bit much imho. Good thing the online process to order and return is easy.Saw them at the Apple Store yesterday; really beautiful machines, even if it still has a chin!
Don’t get me started on the Apple Store! I was only there for a Genius Bar appointment.Tried to check them out an an apple store...but couldn't even walk around the store due to max capacity....I had to make an appointment. Is it a built-in microphone?

You can also connect the iPad via USB, that way I don't think WiFi needs to be turned on at all.
Feels worse than going through airport security.Don’t get me started on the Apple Store! I was only there for a Genius Bar appointment.
