Copy a block of pastel color from one of the iMac product images into photoshop, and print it out to fill a "chin size" strip of paper. Stick that under your existing monitor. Doesn't it look a bit odd having that in your line of sight?

Perhaps it's just me.
They say you don't notice it when you work. But luckily there's always the silver. Sleek, looks taken straight out of a Black Mirror episode, super futuristic.

...I'm not such an Apple fanboi that I think every item Apple ever produces is a design classic, or better than what came before..

Great put-down, very original. Admirable objectivity too.

I have heard it said that blurting out nonsense to strangers is good therapy, but I guess I'll have to sign up to a Lenovo or a Dell forum and post there to find out.

We finally decorated. Only took all weekend!

I made sure I decorated using colours that would make the red stand out more. :D

I don't notice the chin at all when using my new iMac.

and as for the gray bezel.... it changes from light to a darker gray depending on the lighting but it's never white and never distracting!

Wow! I really wish I could be so neat and organized (with any of these layouts). I guess it is not in my dna. The dog swooshes her tail and the papers go flying ... I just pile them up next to the computer. I was hoping some of these layouts would rub off to make me neater. Alas, can't teach an old dog new tricks.

I too chose silver. At the Apple Store, we really liked blue. However, we will be doing apartment renovation in the next three months, including painting. Since we have not yet selected colors, we felt silver was safest.

No. Because I’m not looking there, I’m looking at the screen. I don’t even notice it while using the computer. If you’re just staring at the chin, you’re obviously not looking at the screen.

I missed that.... had to go back and find it!

I LOVE that old fashioned fireplace!
Thanks! We just moved into this house. It was built in 1901, and every room has the original fireplace, including this second bedroom!
We are very lucky!

The previous couple lived here over 20 years and were very sympathetic to the house with their decor, which has been good for us as we’ve just come in and kept the features and tried to modernise!

I just said I don't like the Magic Mouse and want the trackpad instead. I don't want to return the iMac and have to wait for nearly 2 months for one with a trackpad.

Well I received my pink trackpad last week, so much better than the mouse. I have just called apple support again as I wanted the keyboard with the numeric keypad as well. Apparently as of a week ago after I requested the trackpad, it has now been documented for staff how to order accessories in the same colour as the iMac you have. Order has been placed and paid for, hopefully will receive it in the next few days.

Oh ok, that's good to know, I will try and order a yellow trackpad

I sort of go back and forth on all the colors ... thought it was a big decision but when I am actually using the computer everything disappears. Initially, I was thinking blue -> yellow -> purple, then silver (more of a match to the mini), but then I selected green. The green sort of pays tribute to the workers in the hospitals with their pastel green.
