All of the articles today mention it will use both, but no idea if Apple will approve it using both or tell Sling they have to limit it to WiFi only.

/cry I have to wait another 3 months

Well, I'm at least happy to hear some good news about it moving foward at least. Up till now it has been a bunch of questionable emails and outsider info, its nice to finally hear it come from some reliable sources.

It looks awesome, lets just hope apple releases it quickly after they receive it.

Dang it, I just wasted $$$ on used Pocket PC just for Slingplayer. Oh well, goes back to Ebay where it came from, I guess. Wonder it'll work on T-mobile Edge, I get about 80-200kbps. Can't wait to try out!!!!!:D

Don't ebay your pocket pc until the SlingPlayer app gets approved by apple and is actually available from the app store. While things do look much better with SlingPlayer on iPhone now, nothing is 100% guaranteed yet.

Just out of curiosity, how did you stream it on your PPC? I used to use a regular Samsung phone and tether the 2. It worked pretty well, but I can't tether my iphone to my ppc - I've got Nestshare but I still can't get the 2 to play well together. Are you somehow linking your iphone to your ppc to watch your Slingbox?

Sling Player for PPC already exists as an application for Windows Mobile. I used it for a year on my HTC Wizard before I bought my iPhone in July. Can't wait for the iPhone version!!!

I use wifi only, I also wasn't successful as far as tethering iphone to my PPC.

It remains to be seen if the actual app will perform as well as the flash demo on their page does, although I am hopeful that it will.

Yeah I think I actually might have to get a Slingbox, the question is which one

That's what I've done for years: bought WM phones to use as SlingPlayers around the house.

I get the ones on eBay that have bad ESN's and could not be used as phones. But their WiFi was just fine. Sometimes I paid as little as $15. Sometimes I got ones with dead LCDs for super cheap and bought replacement screens (eBay from China) for $30.

My wife loves them. She could lay with a two year old who wanted to watch cartoons on the big TV, while my wife used the handheld with an earphone to watch her own shows.

Another advantage of the WM phones for this is their super cheap replaceable batteries. Always keep a couple charging around the house.

But yeah, I can't wait to watch on my iPod touch.

I cant wait until april or may to have slingbox mobile on my iphone, I have been waiting for years for this and now there is light at the end of the tunnel and its not a train.

I cant wait Woot!!!!! :D

Given the high quality on my former phone (ATT HTC w/windows mobile) I don't see why it wouldn't perform as well or better. The screen on the iPhone is definitely better.

I wonder if there may be RAM limitations with the iPhone...does the mobile sling player use a buffer?

Looks like I will be buying a Slingbox when the app comes out. This probably will be good for Sling Media's sales.
