Pin 1 and 2 should be 3.25V same as pin 4, 5. U6901 is an AND gate so when 1 and 2 are both high then pin 4 will be high. Since your pin 4 is high you seem to be OK.

U6901 now applies VCC (power) to U6900 which should now pass through the SYS_ONEWIRE signal to the center pin of your magsafe. So you should see about 3V on the magsafe center pin.

If you still don't have green light on Magsafe then it means that the SMC is not communicating with the charger. But all of the right things have happened to allow that communications path with ISL6259 charger and U6901/U6900.

Maybe check the resistance on SYS_ONEWIRE to ground? Maybe it is shorted.

I was able to get back to checking U6901 today.
Pin 1 is 0.05V
Pin 2 is 0.00V
GND
Pin 4 is 3.25V
Pin 5 is 3.25V

U6900 is 0.00 around all pins

Pull down resistor on SMC North Bridge Current Sense. Are you failing a sensor test in AHT?

I cannot test because macbook dont power on, only works with charged battery.
In my macbook this component is missing.
Can be because this missing component that my macbook dont power on and magsafe adapter have a dim green light?

Thanks

Macbook pro mid 2010 820-2879 rev B

Does anyone have the Schematics for Macbook pro mid 2010 ( 820-2879-b )?? I have ( 820-2879 ) but as you can see the resistor setup around the U7000 is different.

I have compared the resistance of a known working ( 820-2879-b ) and here are the results. Some resistors have been removed in the rev B and some I believe some valued resistors have been replaced with 0 ohm resistors.

Hi where you can find this schematic?
You have the power schematic from a1278 mid 2009 k24?

Thanks

So do you need the "b" version or the non "b" version

Probably should be replaced so that sensor works correctly but I doubt it would affect the green light on the magsafe. That green light is a function of the Magsafe, SMC, charger, and battery all communicating together.

Starting point is to make sure you have G3Hot. If not, then nothing works.

If so, then next step is to check pin 14 of the charger. I posted some voltages to check around the charger recently.

The B version, I can't seem to find it anywhere :/

Is the B version the 2010 model? If so PM me with your email address.

15 MBP late 2011

I double the post from MBA thread. Mby here i can get help.

Hi there. So my keyboard was damaged. I replaced it by the second hand one from eBay. All working now, BUT NO KEYBOARD BACKLIGHT. I tryed to put backlight plastic from new one, and from old one. NO LIGHT. On motherboard connector of keyboard backlight is 1V. I tryed to do the SMC reset also. So im writing here as a last chance to get it work again. Thanks.

Is it possible to give a power straight to backlight plastic connector to be shure that it works? should be a 5V there i think.

Thanks

I haven't found the right tool to open those BRD-s under Mac OS X either. Does anyone have a hint what the suitable tool might be?
For windows, these ZIP-s do seem to include some sort of viewer:
https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/16889746/
https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/17227003/

Exporting to PDF would not be useful. The boardview files require the boardview program to allow search function.

I am not aware of a Mac version of the board viewer (but am interested to hear of one). I use an old PC laptop beside my workbench with a second monitor attached to use the Windows boardviewer while working on the boards. Or on my iMac I open Windows under Parallels to use the Windows boardviewer.

The board viewer works fine with wine, which itself runs on Mac OS X :)

when i dont have the correct voltage in PP18V5_DCIN_FUSE what can be the problem?

Thanks

Turns out I didn't. Apparently the B version is only really different around the ISL6259 charger device and I know that area so well I never bother looking at the boardview file.

I have a 2011 MBP 15" that has a problem with keyboard function. I have already replaced the keyboard, but it still acts like the shift key is stuck on. Any ideas on how to repair it. I am guessing it has something to do with the connector on the board J5713.
