Yes. Android vs Apple forum threads are by far the most unpleasant threads in my experience here at Macrumors. And that is an awesome quote you have there "All the best people in life seem to like Linux." (Steve Wozniak).
If you don't like it why are you in here and thumbing up half the replying?

I7guy must be Apples biggest shareholder Apple can really do no wrong in his eyes, kinda sad.

Guys, again, this is an amazing concept. The verge has written about it now too:

http://www.theverge.com/circuitbrea...0/macbook-pro-oled-touch-bar-3d-concept-rumor

Now this is really cool:
http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/09/macbo...-c-ports-monster-trackpad-just-take-my-money/

I would update my rMBP to this in a heart beat.

Edit: also on front page of MR.

Concept Imagines What a Dynamic OLED Touch Panel Could Look Like on a MacBook Pro

Just wow:

A dynamic function touch screen bar is brilliant. Makes perfect sense. I really hope we see something like this soon.

A little off topic, but does anyone else think Jeff Bezos would be a better CEO then Cook?

Not particularly. Why do you think Jeff Bezos would be better than Cook?

Elon Musk, maybe, but he has bigger and more important fish to fry.

Kind of feel like hes trying to do more things at the moment. Especially with Echo.

I'm fine with Cook, but sometimes fresh blood is good like Microsoft with Satya Nadella

My mistake was to get involved. (That's what I didn't like) I much prefer reading. You guys seem to go out of your way to pick a bone with I7guy - I find a lot of his points valid. It's like it's a crime to actually like Apple on this forum. Next time I'll stay out of the fray and just read. :)

You don't know i7guy enough then. There's a reason why I no longer engage with him.

Crime to actually like Apple? Then I guess I would have to plead guilty, too.

Hard to know someone on an internet forum, true. Cool @ crime, then that is something we have in common. :) I enjoy your posts and spend a lot of time reading here. Thanks for your contributions.

I can't believe no one wants to talk about the MacBook Pro dynamic OLED touch panel concept. I think if Apple releases a MBP with something close to the concept, I'd happily upgrade my rMBP.

The prospects are certainly intriguing but to be honest, it seems like Apple is solving a problem not many, if any, were complaining about. Can't recall the last time I ever heard someone complain about the lack of capabilities of their function keys. Obviously I'll reserve judgment until we can see it in action.

Ironically, they are possibly adding the ability to customize the function keys on future Macs yet the biggest complaint I see about the Smart Keyboard for the iPP is the lack of a function row entirely. I haven't missed it as much as I thought I would but I'd still love to have one on my Smart Keyboard.

I guess that's the point... those function controls can be controlled via the touch screen. That principle carries over to the MacBooks. A dynamic, always adaptable, changing touch-screen function bar (and one that looks that good in those concept renders) could be just as useful.

I agree, it's not solving a major problem, but it's still an interesting step to take the MBP.

It looks great but I already spent €2400 on my late 2014 MBP and its still wickedly powered to justify upgrading to for the feature. Hopefully it will appear at some point in a revised Apple Keyboard sold separately.

That argument might have worked in the past, but sorry, they are actually making money. Quite a bit actually based on Q1 earnings.

Exactly. MANY companies are making money. The money/profit/valuation advantage argument -- as if that somehow automatically means the actual technology or services from said profit-gaining company means it's the best -- continues to be a ridiculous position to hold and argue from. Just two weeks ago, when the ebb and flow of the market put Google's valuation over Apple's, I asked if this now changes anything for him or his opinions of Google's devices. He refused to answer directly.

As I said before, such inconsistencies are untenable positions. But to each their own, I guess.

Now that's a great idea.

It's high time they released a wireless keyboard with a numpad, too. Wireless keyboard, numpad, and dynamic OLED function touch screen. I'd buy that!

And please allow the keyboard to be used while charging. : cough Apple Mouse cough :

You can charge the latest Magic Keyboard while in use IIRC.

The great thing about discussion forums like MR this is the freedom of expressing your ideas. It gives all an equal footing for the world to view. You can choose who to interact or not. It's a great thing.

They definitely are doing better but AWS seems to be the star.

Keep doing your thing man. Helps balance out some of the discussions around here in this section. People get down on you when they do the exact same things themselves.

I think it looks cool. But I honestly think they need to make a Mac with a touchscreen interface. I think it works wonders with video and picture editing. I don't know why they have some affinity to steer clear of it. I'm sure they'll jump on the bandwagon at some point in time. But with so many people using touchscreen smartphones and tablets these days, it just makes sense to make touchscreen computers. Our minds are becoming trained to touch a screen to interact with it.

I think you are totally correct on the move to touchscreen and all the benefits it provides. I think Apple wants us to use the IPP as the touch screen laptop replacement imho. I would love to have touchscreen on my rMBP :)

Nice. Just wish there was a numpad. =T

Oh, and backlight, ala MacBooks.

Of course. No one is telling you not to post. Just that you give little to no explanation for your inconsistent positions. I asked you genuine questions in that other thread about Google's valuation over Apple. You said Apple was number one in valuation. Turns out it's actually Google at the time of posting. And so I thought it was perfectly reasonable to ask you if that changes anything for you since you seem to rely on Apple's valuation position as a mode to your arguments. But I effectively got no answer from you. Makes it difficult to understand your opinion. And actually leads to only so many conclusions that one can draw about you or frankly anyone who won't explain their inconsistencies.

Yeah, I think that would be interesting to see in a MacBook. I myself am in no rush for them to accomplish this as I value thinness, form-factor, weight, and battery life in my MacBooks.

I'm sure one day it'll happen. But perhaps Apple could introduce a separate line for these touch-screen MacBooks. But I also guess there's the iPad Pro + Keyboard combo, too.

I think the OLED function touch screen could also help save battery. You could in theory leave the screen off, and just touch the OLED functions without necessarily waking up the monitor. So you could play/pause or change songs, see battery life, see notifications, etc. while the display is asleep. If you need to wake it, you hit a physical key or the trackpad as you normally would.

I think people will find more uses for the OLED function than just it looking pretty and dynamic. It'll actually lead to some interesting features, I believe.

[doublepost=1465585906][/doublepost]Not always the most reliable, but this site claims, from an anonymous source, that Apple will announce iMessage for Android at this year's WWDC.

I'd be shocked if true, but fingers crossed.

http://macdailynews.com/2016/06/09/apple-to-deliver-imessage-to-android-at-wwdc/

Apple will announce that iMessage encrypted text messaging is coming to Android users at WWDC next Monday at WWDC 2016, according to a source familiar with the company’s thinking.
