Season 7 Episode 12 The Pegasus

Challenging the Treaty of Algeron and Starfleet using Cloaking Devices.

But here in "All Good Things" season finale the treaty must have expired when Riker comes out of cloak in the enterprise F

Keep in mind that the Treaty of Algeron - which created the Neutral Zone - stated that the Federation would not develop cloaking technology against the Romulans. I don’t know if it said anything against the Klingons..

Also, in All Good Things, the Enterprise F was based on an alternate timeline that was created by Q because of him putting humanity on trial. The original timeline was also still there as well.

I'm looking forward to the summer with Prodigy and Lower Decks. I'm really hoping Picard Season 2 is better than Picard Season 1, but I'm not entirely optimistic. I have liked the last two episodes of Discovery though so anything is possible.

Someone refresh my memory.. I haven’t seen any of the recent series that have come out; in fact, I stopped watching anything after First Contact and after DS9 ended… I stuck to the interviews and panels at the various conventions..

I know that Picard is canon.. but are the newer series like Prodigy, Lower Decks, or even Discovery all canon to the timeline? And if so, where do they slot in?

Technically yes.

Disco is a prequel, then a sequel. Pike’s time then it changes big time.
Picard is set at 2399 I think.
Lower Decks is sometime right after Voyager I believe.
Prodigy is 2386 or abouts.

That's what the showrunners say.

So this would be after Enterprise, then before The Cage (TOS pilot)? I'd assume that this is all before The Menagerie and Where No Man Has Gone Before (the second TOS pilot)?*

Picard is set at 2399 I think.

That one I get, so I know that one is canon.. The way Stewart described it was that 25 years has passed in Picard's life, just as 25 years has passed in Stewart's life. So both have kept mainly in sync.

Lower Decks is sometime right after Voyager I believe.
Prodigy is 2386 or abouts.

This is where it gets tricky. If I remember right, Voyager gets home after ST: Insurrection, as in ST: Nemesis, Janeway is seen giving orders to Picard on the Enterprise-E. So by then, Janeway was already promoted to Admiral and given a desk job (probably by choice). So by that reckoning, Lower Decks would be after Janeway gets promoted and gets the desk job...

.. But between Nemesis and Picard, she's back out on a ship again? Is she captain then, or still Admiral?

*Here in the US around 1988 (shortly before season 2 of TNG), Frakes and Roddenberry hosted a special presentation of Star Trek, where they aired The Cage for the first time on national TV, and then gave some insights into what was going to happen in season 2 of TNG.

Yes after Enterprise but before the cage.

Janeway is not in Lower Decks.

In Prodigy, well you’ll have to watch it to understand why it works.

Warp jumps over the decades.

I like ST:TMP the best

LOL they omitted DISCO.

I hate the JJ abrams shaky warp effect and the warp tunnel. The TNG era of the stars whizzing by is majestic.

I also hate that the added plasma trails in Nemesis. WTH, is the ship leaking?

I’m not sure what my favorite one is when going to warp. My favorite one coming out of warp is in ENT. They exit the same way they go in. That also felt more consistent to me than the TNG version where they just slow down. But the sound the D makes when coming out of warp is glorious.

For those in the US, there's this deal ending on 3/7:

I plan to reactivate soon, partly so can watch Picard show S2.

Well, did watch Picard_S02E01 (it's on Prime around here) and I really liked the 50 minutes or so.

7of9, space-pirates, Borg, Borg and more Borg

Then came Q (the only ST character more annoying than Wesley) and the preview of them going back to present times to fix the future. Has been done so often and pretty much always ended as a fail.

We'll see....

I was shocked how much I liked the Picard Premiere. It did an amazing job reintroducing the characters, answering some questions left over from season 1 and still felt philosophical with the theme of second chances and Picard's regrets about not settling down with someone. Then the ending brought us that great scene with the anomaly and Q and the alternate timeline and I'm excited for this new mystery.

Discovery on the other hand? The quicker this season ends the better.

I am currently going through ENT again. Not the best, but good.

but after seeing those warp snippets above, I can see I need to watch all the movies yet again. It has been too long!

Picard show S2:E2 was pretty good too. E3 was necessary but not that great. E4 was better. I don't recall my comparison of E4 to E5 though but at least I'm all caught up.

I'm now just 1 ep behind on Disco, which has hit finale. The latest season has been meh... Picard been holding my interest a lot more.

A new Paramount+ trailer for SNW got released April 3, 2022:
