yeah not happy right now. I am leaving for a trip today too and very well may not have a phone to use.

I think you should call AT&T and demand a credit for the period of time you didn't have service. OR request another cell phone to use on your trip.

Thanks! I clicked on Radio (previously tried clicking on other things like iTunes Store, etc.) and then back to my iPhone and now it's accessing the iTunes Store again. Now, I'm back where I was over 3 hours ago

Well, I guess some response is better than none. I'm glad you're one of the few that got through

Not working for me either.

Am I doing this process right? I have taken my old SIM card out of my 1st gen iPhone and put it in my new 3G iPhone, and now I'm trying to connect to iTunes????

The guy at o2 was a bit vague and unsure!!

Still stuck on -4 error, every time I try to reconnect, and have been doing this for about 1.5 hours now.

Patience is a virtue?......

...that I haven't got.
Still, keep trying guys, eventually worked for me after clicking the error message, then music and iphone, after about an hour.
Good luck.

STOP! ;)

I think this would go much better and faster if there where not thousands of people clicking back and forth and creating more requests and server loads!

Just a thought....

Is anyone getting any errors with this, or just getting the "Accessing...." message? I have my iphone connected, but when I try to click on iphone on the left side panel, it finally comes up with an error to check my network connections....time out. I can access the main itunes store page just fine, just not the iphone page to sync. I know I am connected to the internet, so I dont understand why this is giving me a network error. Is this the same thing everyone else is getting, or is mine just giving me a hard time?

Oh great.

O2 messed up getting my new iPhone.

Now the inadequate servers have effectively bricked my old one.

Nice one.

After receiving the iTunes error, I ranted and raved for an hour and then settled in to a process of quitting and then launching iTunes over and over. After about 30 minutes, my phone FINALLY activated!

That's the good news. The bad news is that I can't manage any of the data on my phone with iTunes. iTunes still wants to access the store. All I want to do is load some songs and a video onto my phone before I have to go sit in the doctor's waiting room for who knows how long this afternoon.

I guess that i should be grateful that at least I have a phone again and can access email and internet.

I'm manually putting the files on my iPhone (2G) right now so that I can have them at work - I'll try again late tonight or tomorrow. The thing that sucks is that I downloaded 5 apps and can't sync those manually to the iPhone. SO, I have no apps on it right now :-(

BTW, because I don't have much room on my comp I unchecked all of the movies, music, podcasts, and ringtones before I updated - it caused the backup to be much smaller and quicker. That changed the setting on the front page of my iPhone to "Manually" control music, etc.
