That boy is just beyond a joke, what planet did he come from???

The video reply with the guy giving him the finger is the best though, that is just 5 seconds of hilarious!!!

he is either hilarious or retarded. Reminds me a bit about the humor of Ricky Gervais (and you know what that symbol is on the power button? .... it stands for sex.)

I think it's the same problem as in our country, where a famous tv maker made a mockumentary about his life portraying a really bad person, and a lot of people actually thought it was real.

Hahaha it's a joke :p

Seriously, not even the dumbest of dumb people would make a genuine video like that :p Especially not after the reaction they got from the first one :p

As frightening as the thought is, I think it's real.

This kid just isn't wired quite right. (I wouldn't say "retarted", as that has a specific medical definition, but definitely not wired the same as the rest of the world.)

I had a weird experience with the whole Mac vs. Windows issue last night.

Normally, I am around pretty computer literate people, and to be honest the 'debate' never really happens. I am used to OS X vs. Linux debates, which I think have some merit, but generally where I work people accept OS X as a superior operating system to Windows.

Last night though, this guy really laid into Macs, which I wasn't ready for. After I mentioned that I had a new BlackBook because my iBook died, he said 'Oh, your problem is the apple logo on the front - it makes any computer instantly into a piece of crap' and 'I'll say one thing about Macs - they are really easy to shut down - all you have to do is open a program!'

I don't really know how to respond to this kind of thing. Not that I think Apple and Macs are above criticism, but complaining that they crash all the time and generally don't work just confuses me.

Anyone else?
Also, I'm interested if there are people who think the whole Mac / Windows debate has merit outside issues with software compatibility. Coming from a world where people either use Macs or Linux, I guess I have a pretty closed perspective on things.

People like that get really annoyed if you just agree blindly with them. "I'll say one thing about Macs - they are really easy to shut down - all you have to do is open a program!": just say something like "yeah, you're totally right. all you have to do is open an app to shutdown a mac. thats why their market-share is increasing, people like being able to shutdown their computers easily"

You have to be careful that he won't take you seriously though :p

My best friend in the UK once said he'll NEVER EVER in this lifetime,
will he buy a Mac... because of Mac blah, MacOS is blah, Mac games blah, blah!!

Then ten years later he's not only switch to a Mac,
but brought a whole range of them in one sitting!!
So wished i made a cash bet with him.

My Friends have asked some really dumb ones:

Green = Me talking
Blue = Friend talking

"I'm gunna get a Mac this summer"
"Oh yeah, they're great I've got one"
"Really? I didn't know you were a Mac user..."
"No no I do, look here it is" [ruffles in bag] [pulls out his iPod] "Look, here..."
"No... thats an iPod, not a Mac...."
"Yeah, I know it's an iPod... but isn't it a Mac too with the Apple logo?"

-----

"Hey... Moggy, how do you get onto the internet on this thing? [said across the room]"
"Use Safari"
"Safari....? Erm...... yeah, what about Safari?"
"You click on it... and you can use the internet"
"Ohh..... [silence for a few seconds...] But, theres no thingy that says Safari on the screen"
"Oh God! Fine! I'll come help!"

-----

"You know... I've decided I don't like Mac's anymore..."
"What? How so?"
"My dad got a mac laptop today and its black. I thought Mac's where white... thats whats makes them unique and awesome"
"Why would you just decide to like Mac's just because of the colour they come in? Besides theres only one MacBook model thats black. The rest are white."
"What? Uh? I don't believe you...."
"Why wouldn't you believe me? Why the hell would I lie about a colour of a computer??"
"I saw another black MacBook in Starbucks the other day with this businessman, hence all mac's must be black"

OMG that last one... he was determind not to give in!!

This is a great thread btw, major kudos to whoever started it..

Ok so our school just got some brand new imacs. In our technology class everyone had to make a football highlights video to get used to final cut on the mac. This is in the 8th grade by the way. Only 2 people had ever used a mac and the rest had no idea what it was. EXcept everyone loved how skinny it was. The project lassted about 4 weeks. That 4 weeks were hard for me. Every few minutes i would here my name being called with questions.
here are some of them.

Wheres internet explorer?

Them: i accidently closed final cut. i lost everything!!!!
Me: goes down to dock and pulls it up since i knew she just hit the x button

one of my classmates was dragging picctures to the hard drive from a usb stick, one by one. And there were like 400 pictures. apple a drag pictures your done. She was a happy camper.

Most used app out of this 4 weeks. Not final cut lol, everyone LOVED photobooth. Some idiot actually asked me where the camera was.

and my favorite. After we were all done with the projects this girl walked up to me and asked me what the difference was between a mac and pc. I looked at her and said, "after 4 weeks of using a mac, you cant tell me one difference it has from a pc''? And she just stared at me.

We are currently on a different project now that we got to chose if we wanted to work on a mac or pc. my group was the only group that wanted to work on a pc. They complain that macs are stupid. I told them that final cut is an extremely confusing program and that its not the only thing you can do on a mac. But its hard to argue them, their just missing out.

OFF TOPIC

Nobody at our school likes the iphone. Nobody. Ive asked people why they dont like them and ive gotten all kinds of answers.

Them: Who would buy a phone that cost $900?
Me: Its $299

Them: I hate using a stylist
Me: Sigh...

Them: My razr can do anything the iphone can do and its free
Me: *stare in disbelief*

Them: Nobody likes the iphone and hardly anyone has bought it.
Me: You do know they have sold over 5 million in less than 7 months, that they have passed up all windows mobile devices market share wise and that it was named times invention of the year.

I have a magnifying glass. Why doesn't my mac let me use my magnifying glass?
That power button makes me randy.
I love sex with my mac while I keep it on brightness.
That video actually angered me. I hate that person.

I am pretty sure it was a joke actually.

Anyways:

"Why the hell do they have baby music on their commercials? Are mac users and switchers so retarded they need baby music to soothe them?".

Serious questions from my aggressive windows friends. >.>

I don't get it. Why is it so hard to admit macs excel at some areas? all they admit are retarded stuff like "its so horrible it doesn't need antivirus". I say good things about PC, like they are a good gaming platform (since they have more games), and such like that.

Not that shocked myself. A lot of people, ESPECIALLY teens and young college students with marginal knowledge, see things that way, especially in the tech world. If everyone's using one thing, well, there's probably something better that those people just don't know about.

In some ways that reasoning makes some sense. Many parents buy computer hardware and gadgets based on A) What everyone else is using and B) What looks easiest.

I've seen these people that develop that mentality- they refuse to buy an iPod because "well, my Creative does the same thing, but it also has an FM receiver". No thought given to interface or other intangibles or the fact that the iPod is half the thickness...just the spec sheet. Then they convince their non-technical friends how much better than an iPod it is, and you get a small group of people who think that iPods suck.

I see it on the iPhone too, I've seen people who tell me they heard that the Voyager was better. This is a pretty common story in my area, because Verizon's coverage is FAR better than anyone else and there's a lot of dead spots for AT&T and T-Mobile if you go even ten minutes up north. So people try to excuse not switching to AT&T by insisting that the Verizon phone is better anyway.

A pity that mentality doesn't extend to the Macs- you'd think they'd be willing to try them by virtue of them being different. But instead you just get the typical fear of change combined with wanting to defend their own purchase of a Windows PC by laughing at how 'inferior' other products are.
