Hello annual preorder friends.

I'm conflicted between the 12 mini and the 12 Pro. I'm on Jump and last year with the 11 Pro, I had to pay an absurd $250 not including taxes with the downpayment. I wonder if it's still the same this year if I were to get the 12 Pro. These prices seem to go up every year so I wonder how much the 12 Pro would cost. If it's the same, I'd rather just take a smaller hit with the 12 mini.

I'll check out the 12 and 12 Pro offers for JoD and go from there. I definitely don't need Pro Max and I'm not sure I can go to the mini from my iPhone 11.

Looks like T-Mobile hasn't updated their site or anything yet. Looking forward to seeing if they will have any promos or at least match that $30 "discount" Verizon/AT&T seems to have secured.

Here we go again. Strap in boys and girls. Get ready for:
  • Rep misinformation on JOD pricing (Am I in the Super premium platinum credit tier or the peasant tier?)
  • Waking up at 3:00am Eastern and talking to a rep who barely knew the phone was releasing
  • Rep misinformation on shipping times (don’t forget to get it overnighted for free)
  • Checking the shipping status every minute (label created?!!? Origin scan!)
  • Trying to guess when each batch flies in from China to Alaska to Kentucky
  • Learning about Shipper/Delivery logistics (X pallets + Impatience - time = iPhone 12 to my home)
  • Getting upset when people who order Saturday afternoon get it the same day or sooner than you
  • Forgetting about this thread once your phone is delivered
With that said, I’m getting ready for that iPhone 12 Pro Max in Blue, BABY!

anyone else's reception on T-mobile been super crap lately?

I don't know if it's because I tried their internet service which doesn't work well in my area. Or if they are updating lines for 5g. Or if all the sprint people now on the network is making it super crappy.
Yes. Yes yes yes. I hate it. I’ve been attributing it to my Intel modem but really it just is the extra congestion from the merger. Or the 5G changes. I have no idea, but it has been VERY frustrating.

Oh it's 100% going to be a huge pain for JOD pricing. Sadly I always ask at least 3 people at T-Mo before I get the real details. last year I was "super VIP we love you" credit tier. Who knows about this year? They may rate me "potato sack wearing peasant".

And you get a $200 down payment! And you get a $181.99 down payment! And you get $0 down payment because you ordered the wrong phone!

Don't forget complaining that the model you ordered is somehow coming later than everyone else's who ordered a completely different configuration. Never mind that the one you ordered is the most popular size/color combo and not remembering they arrive in batches and are matched to orders once they reach the ground in KY.

The good news is that it's divided a little this year WRT ordering. I'll be getting either a 12 or 12 Pro, so I'll only have to deal with HALF the people ordering complaining about who gets their first.

How does it work if I have my Xr on the 3 year bill credit promotion they ran? I still have 12 payments (11 by the time the phone is released). Will they allow me to upgrade early and "forgot" the EIP I have and just start a new one?

What if I wanted to just buy the phone outright from Apple, and trade in my phone to Apple, and jsut continue the EIP even though I don't own the phone anymore?

Their trade in is what I have left to pay per month (250 but half of it is bill credits so I'm basically getting 125 off the iPhone 12 mini)

I have an XS Max but the 12 Pro Max is just too large and it is even heavier. The 12 looks fine to me. I don't care too much about cameras.

No, they won't just forget the contract you agreed to. If you want out early you'll have to pay it off, which will stop any monthly credits you're receiving. I'm not sure if you can trade it in to Apple while you don't officially own it.

You cannot trade it into Apple while there is any kind of lien/hold on it from T-Mobile for exactly what you noted---you don't actually own it outright until your agreement is paid in full.

It’s 8am EST now unfortunately. Now I have to make sure my phones are set up for preordering before I clock in to work.

You all just reminded me of one of the reasons why I jumped ship with T-Mobile. I refuse to pay $450+ for a down payment again, even if my device payments were low. With that type of down payment and your device payments you’ll end up paying for more than half of the device, so you might as well pay it off and sell it and then upgrade.

When do we expect preorder trade in deals to come out from T-Mobile? Last time I bought an iPhone was on launch day 2016. Still rocking the 7, ready for an upgrade to the Mini!

Lease is up on my XS on Oct. 31. 8 Plus still has 6 more payments.

I’ll replace the XS and just pay in full. So I’m pretty much am stuck getting a 12 Pro and that’s totally ok. :)))

I’ll do the same for the 8 Plus when that lease is up. Or just pay any tensing balance and wait for next year’s phone.

Two iPhone 12 Pro for $100 each - T-Mobile (New Customers)
Based on t-mobile customer service...T-Mobile will have the following deal on iPhone 12 Pro

New Customers: Two for $100 each after trade in and bill credits
Existing Customers: 50% off after trade in and bill credits
Interesting. Hope they have a deal on the mini.

I would totally trade in the X for a 12 Pro if they give me $500 for it. Even in credits.

I actually had a smooth experience dealing with T-Mobile over the phone to order the X in 2017. I was shocked at how easy it was. They’re a great company. I’m glad I switched from AT&T.

I have to admit preordering the X with T-Mobile was so easy and painless and I received my device on launch day, whereas with the 7+ I received it a month later. I will admit that I hated T-Mobile for asking for $750 down for the X and $5 and some change a month in device payments.

Yeah, they definitely asked for a lot down. I traded in a 6 Plus too, so that was my first taste of an unsubsidized iPhone purchase. Are you getting Pacific Blue?

This is pretty accurate. So much so that I’m not pre-ordering from TMo this year. I have had too many botched orders with them, most recently on 2 Apple Watch S6s where it never shipped and the order “got stuck” and had to be cancelled and redone. I’ll just buy straight from Apple and know I’ll have the phone at the time they say I will.

Is the "Silver" iPhone 12 Pro actually silver? It looks super WHITE to me. Maybe my monitor is off? But it doesn't look silver at all.....
