Yeah, they definitely asked for a lot down. I traded in a 6 Plus too, so that was my first taste of an unsubsidized iPhone purchase. Are you getting Pacific Blue?

I’m going to try ordering that first and if the dates slip too far out, I’ll opt for Silver. I have them saved as my favorite on the Apple Store app.

Does anyone remember what the iphone 11 pre order was like? did you do it online, or did you have to call and speak to a rep?

From past pre-orders I always called in 2-5 minutes before pre-orders went live, spoke to a rep and gave them all of my information, received a confirmation email within a few minutes and a EIP email in a few hours and still managed to receive my device on launch day except for the 7+ which came a month later with the help of T-Mobile executives and a credit to my account.

Bless you, my fellow TMO folks, who are still upgrading through their outdated system. I wish you all the best lol.

Here we go again. Strap in boys and girls. Get ready for:
  • Rep misinformation on JOD pricing (Am I in the Super premium platinum credit tier or the peasant tier?)
  • Waking up at 3:00am Eastern and talking to a rep who barely knew the phone was releasing
  • Rep misinformation on shipping times (don’t forget to get it overnighted for free)
  • Checking the shipping status every minute (label created?!!? Origin scan!)
  • Trying to guess when each batch flies in from China to Alaska to Kentucky
  • Learning about Shipper/Delivery logistics (X pallets + Impatience - time = iPhone 12 to my home)
  • Getting upset when people who order Saturday afternoon get it the same day or sooner than you
  • Forgetting about this thread once your phone is delivered
With that said, I’m getting ready for that iPhone 12 Pro Max in Blue, BABY!

Seeing the last few Samsung pre-orders on JOD with downpayments, I'm almost afraid to see what downpayment will be like on JOD this year. I'm hoping the same as last year, but have fears they may be large seeing the current trend. The prices are pretty close to last years, so one would hope the downpayment would be between zero & 150 based on model.

The thing about JoD is that it seems different for everyone (credit tier maybe?). People were complaining last year about high down payments and I thought mine was quite reasonable.

I have an 11 pro, on JOD, so hoping it's no down payment to go to 12 pro, if I decide to. I am pretty happy with this phone, but I am an iPhone addict, so who knows..

I mean, they are a telephone company.

When I was working for Bell in the early to mid 2000s my desk handled the hospital phone line connect/disconnect. So when you checked into the hospital and wanted the phone to work, you dialed me and I ssh'd into some ancient system to enable the phone circuit. I would then connect to another, totally separate, terminal style window and link it to your home phone account so that it was billed on your monthly statement. Everything they used was put in place decades before that.

As an aside, the fact phone calls to/from a hospital room aren't free is bananas.

I just got the following from T-Force regarding JUMP! On Demand. Please take it with a grain of salt and understand that last year there were several versions of pricing coming from T-Force so this may change/be wrong:

"For the iPhone 12 64GB, the down payment for well qualified customers would be $79.99 and then $30.00 each month for 18 months. For the iPhone 12 Pro 128GB, the down payment for well qualified customers would be $249.99 and then $28.00 each month for 18 months."

"The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available for pre-order starting at 5:00 a.m. PT/8:00 a.m. ET October 16, 2020 and for purchase beginning October 23, 2020. The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available for pre-order starting at 5:00 a.m. PT/8:00 a.m. ET November 6, 2020 and for purchase beginning November 13, 2020."

T-Mobile has added the promo to their site for the iPhone 12 Pro. Up to 50% off (depending on what you trade in) PLUS an additional $200 rebate if you have been with T-Mobile for 5+ years. Can go all the way down to the first ever iPhone.

Very true about the grain of salt. In an hour, another rep will tell you something different. ”sorry that was the well qualified pricing. For super extra special qualified pricing, it’s $XXX.99

I've been trying to work through their EIP deal (above) to see if it is worth it for me. I don't think it is.

If I want to end JoD for one of my lines, for example, I'd have to pay $350 today to buy the phone out (remaining payments and residual). Then I can trade it back to T-Mobile for $415 that they'll dole out $13.80 at a time for 30 months. They'll also give me a $200 Mastercard gift card up front (one per account, not per line).

On the JoD side, I can turn my current iPhone 11 back in and pay approx. $590 over the next 12 months ($250 down and $28/mo) to have the new one I want. Then do the same thing next year.

If I was to just go buy the phone for $999 and then sell it next year, I'd lose around $550 (based on historical data for sales trends of year old iPhones) and incur the hassle of selling it.

As I'm an annual new phone guy, I'm gonna stick with JoD.

Sounds about right. My 11 Pro was also $249.99 down which was never the case with the previous iPhones. I’m guessing the 12 mini could be in the range of $0-50 down if the regular 12 is $79.99. Kind of hating these prices as someone who Jumps every iPhone release and have a little over $300 left to pay off, it would make more sense to pay it and keep the device if I paid that much just to lease it. Jump isn’t exactly amazing as it used to be.

yeah I'm still kind of expecting it to be less than $200 when I call on Friday. Happens every year.

I get what you're saying. I'm still a lease person, though. I'm just used to having the current device I guess. I know enough about myself to know that if I buy this outright, I'll be trading it next year.

My 11 Pro was ~$120 down last year on JOD. Did you happen to get the base model or extra storage? It probably also depends on when you ordered. Hope the pricing stays the same. $250 is on the high side for JOD. And agreed that JOD has lost it’s luster over the years.

If I have been with Sprint for 10+ years and have a paid for iPhone X to trade in on a 12 Pro, what kind of discounts will I see? It gets confusing since they are still listing different terms for Sprint even though it should all be T-mobile. Hopefully the loyalty credit applies to Sprint.

I need to upgrade 2 phones on a Sprint unlimited plan.

ALSO do you pickup the new phone in a Tmobile store or does it ship? Guessing a signature is required?

I also just saw on T-Mobile website that they have a promotion for the regular 12. Keyword being “join” I assume these deals are only for new customers? Man I would love 680 bill
Credits for my 8
