This is absolutely not true. I never traded a phone in to start a JOD contract. it is not REQUIRED to trade in a device to add JOD.

Correct, but if you pay off the device that would remove the current JOD (how it was explained to me). Therefore, you would need to add JOD again. Hence the trade in.

Edit: I read the last part of your post wrong. It is required to trade in a fully paid off device to add JOD for the first time. We had to do it on all 5 of our lines. All done at different times. Some in store and some over the phone.

Not to be mean but you kind of screwed yourself. Apple honestly is the worst place to order a Tmobile phone if your on T-Mobile because you are competing with scalpers and people that want to buy the phone outright without carrier authentication. But I think I saw someone post thiers shipped from Apple.
Well, T-Mobile iPhone booking has been a disaster for several years now. The only reason apple was a disaster this time is because both their App and web site failed worldwide. I agree T-Mobile phones are picked by scalpers on Apple web site. But I have never had an issue and since I pay full cash I have flexibility of ordering at either place.

Anyone have experience with changing their delivery to a UPS Access Point? I just changed it for my iPhone X package that has shipped and when trying to confirm the change in delivery it pushed forward the delivery date from November 3 to November 6. Does changing it the access point usually delay the delivery?

When changing to anything other than a Customer Center it can delay your order depending on when the UPS truck your phone is on delivers it that location. That’s why everyone should choose the hub because instead of loading your phone on the truck they’ll hold it there for you to pickup. Mine opens at 8am so I can pick mine up then.

T-Mobile seems to be pretty good getting people their pre-orders. Hang in there. :)
I’m only salty because for the 1st time I woke up at 245am and would have had my order completed by 3:05 if it weren’t for the surprise down payment!

How do I change my insurance to the 12 dollar option? I already have the 10 dollar option but I figure I might as well pay 2 more dollars instead of paying apple 200 up front.

T-Mobile must’ve raised the price. Used to be $12 now $15 is all I see and the one active. You give them a call and request the insurance with AppleCare. Please note it takes some time for your Serial to register took mine a week before it showed me covered with AppleCare+ via Apple Support app.

Are you in a state without tax? You should have had to pay taxes up front regardless if not.

Nice! I feel like either very few (in comparison) ordered from T-Mobile or they were able to secure a ton of devices. Or s little of both.

I think this year a lot of people went straight to Apple to order because of the fiasco with last year’s launch. Unfortunately this year Apple is pushing a lot of the IUP preorders up to the front of the queue, and those who ordered within the first 30 minutes have dates after 11/3. My Apple orders have dates of 11/17-11/24 and I ordered 6 minutes after T-Mobile.

right, but if I pay the lease off at say the 10 month point. I will own the phone and can start another JOD contract. Which is my plan with the X. With the down payment and monthly lease payment the phone is roughly 60% paid off. Selling it on the side will net a profit at that point.
Yea I re-read what he said and what you’re saying is true. I got a Like for my incorrect assessment of your post at least lol.

The contract states you can keep the phone if after 18 months you pay the remaining balance otherwise you have to turn it in. You should be able to buy out the phone and get another with JOD.

I wonder if the line at UPS that day will be similar to Apple Stores. Heh. My UPS depot only has like 6 parking spots for customers. That will be interesting.

Mine usually does have a line on launch days. My CC is a big one though. I think it’s the main center for most of the north and west Chicago suburbs. Line usually moves fairly fast though. I’ve found the Apple Store lines to be somewhat of a circus.

The line at mine isn’t usually long and they always make one line for iPhone launches and the other for customers just picking up or dropping off. I usually wait no more than 20 minutes.

I’m in the exact same situation. Ordered from Apple and got the 17-24 estimate. Went to TMo and I have a phone with tracking and a Friday delivery date. TMo was very smooth and easy this time.

I placed 2 orders; 1 for 64GB silver, and another for 64GB Space grey. I spoke with a customer service rep, who placed both orders by 3:35am est. I got charged for both yesterday morning, and by yesterday evening, just the silver one said "shipped". The other one still says "processing".

If you were charged it’s moving for you. The TMo status is not as reliable.

Hey, I'm new to T-mobile, but I was wondering. When I placed the pre-order online with the T-mobile rep, she didn't mention Jump or Jump on Demand as an option. Do you know if that can be added to the account/phones that were pre-ordered later?

Can't do it.
False

Device Protection may only be added during a “qualifying event”. Typically, this is within 14 days of the purchase (order date) of a T-Mobile USA branded device from an authorized T-Mobile channel (T-Mobile retail stores nationwide, authorized postpaid dealers, Costco, Customer Care, for existing customers, T-Mobile.com, and Telesales, 1-800-T-Mobile). Additionally, there are occasional “open enrollment” periods. Qualifying events apply to new customers and existing customers who are upgrading their device.
