I think so too; yet, many that I have seen post/talk about it have steadfastly said it costs too much and they will be opting for the 8. (Talking about social media and with others in person, not the MacRumors sample pool)
That's what I thought going in, as I swear I read something official from T-Mo that this would be the case.
This was DEFINITELY not as busy as normal iPhone launches. My order just got completed and I still have launch day delivery. I got a bad rep with my phone call appointment, so I went through T-Force via Twitter which was surprisingly time consuming.
Is this confirmed? We just choose standard shipping and it gets upgraded to overnight? When would I see confirmation of that?
Last year for the 7 pre-order I just got it on all 3 orders without saying or paying anything extra. I wonder what happened this time around.
Not sure. I'll probably call them tomorrow and inquire about the shipping stuff.

Same exact boat... about to be 3 am but I keep checking the order status. But I think I'll head to sleep, got work at 9.
I will be waiting for the X. Cost seems worth it to me, the face ID is something I am very excited to use.
It does seem pretty awesome. I figure if I'm still itching for a new phone after the 8+s get here, I can always order the X. I love Jump on Demand...
True, I heard alot would want to try the 1st gen new OLED than the 8. Probably not paying up full cost up front but either through carrier or Apple financing options.
I just got this worrisome text from T-Mo on the line I upgraded.
"Free T-Mobile Msg: Thanks for your order! Supply is very limited and no shipping estimate is currently available for your T-Mobile order xxxxxx. Check out http://t-mo.co/tmo_check_order for updates to your shipping estimate and status while your order processes"
Yet simultaneously, I received the order confirmation email stating estimated ship date of 9/21-9/22 with UPS Expedited Next Day shipping. (Also: they charged me tax on shipping? Seriously?)
At least it's finally showing up on the order status page. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I haven't gotten any texts but I received an esign email and then the confirmation. It's probably taking longer for the emails to go out because so many are calling right now. I bet you'll have it by morning. Well.. when you wake up anyways. HahahIt was free for me too

Same thing here. I assume it’s an automated precaution they put in place for all the orders since it’s usually a @$&# show. lol
All my orders show up on my account and everything. First year I have had them all go through.

Mytmobile.com still says 9/21-9/22 for shipping though. So...now we wait hahah

I could of sworn I was a JOD but when I called they wanted to charge me a down payment and $20 fee. I ended it bc I need sleep and will call back when I wake up for work, but a little annoyed right now.
They said I have JOD but I had to pay a $99.99 down payment plus that $20 fee, and taxes
Yeah that's what I got. Very easy process. I ordered about 4am though so I'm not sure exactly when the phone will be delivered. Ordered the 64gb Silver.
