This year's pre-order process was definitely a lot smoother than the last couple years. Given having issues ordering over the phone, decided to just order through T-Force DM on Twitter. Got on about 3:15 am EST, messaged them, got a response shortly thereafter, went through the process, and I think by the time all was said and done, finished up about 4 am this morning and still got shipping dates of 9/21-9/22. Will probably still take advantage of JoD when X pre-orders go live, and as others have mentioned, am sure that will be a different story lol.

The shipping estimates were at October - December for Jet Black last year. It was unbelievable but this year seems to be more streamlined

Because those phones (8 and 8 plus)existence is stupid. It really only was produced to so that the cheaper Iphone users have something to upgrade too. I know people like my mom would never pay $1000 for a phone. She currently has the Iphone 6 and was shocked at the price tag back then.lol My mom has her own house, has a great paying job and plenty of disposable income and she is like nope. But to me that phone will be a flop and rightly so. There should have only been two phones this year the Iphone X and maybe something called the Iphone X Pro edition. Both all screen maybe one just a little bigger. It's sad that able would take a four year old design, slap glass on the back, upgrade a few internals and act like it's all new.

The $0 down $33/ month JOD is before tax? I just looked at the contract closely and it was actually $36.05/month. I swore I asked the lady on phone and she said $33 is tax included. Am I being mistaken?

I’m waiting to pre-order the X. The 8+ look too much like my 7+ except for being all glass. I’m not ready to part just yet with my Rose Gold color and it don’t seem too much different from my 7+.

Same thing for me. I wonder if anyone else asked about that.

Apparently I'm on Jump teir 1 which is grandfathered plan. So I had to pay the downpayment but that's okay. Because they said I have a jump that I can upgrade twice in an 18 month period. E-signed and confirmation email received! Should be getting my 8+ gold 64 on launch!

T-Mobile just announced a trade in program for the new I8's
$300 for I6 or above . This is not event close to what they offered but the timing of the announcement is exactly same as last years

Yeah I’m going to give you my iPhone 7 Plus 256gb for $300... go fish you crooks

And the $300 isn't a guaranteed amount, it's up to $300. They only quoted $118 for my 6S which I said thanks and chose to join the JOD instead.

Also for the post I made above,JOD monthly payment amount does not include tax, that explains the 9% bump on my JOD monthly payment.

What insurance plan for those of you have JOD? The $15, $12 or the $10? The $10 does not include AppleCare if I'm not mistaking.

I got the full $300 for my 64G 6.

This is my first year with T-Mobile. If my wife and I plan to buy our phones in full, can we go through Apple?

Yes I have 2 phones in my favorites in the Apple store app, full price ready to go for pre-order date.

I went to order an iPhone 8 for my mom with a trade in of her 6 for the $300 promo, but I ended up calling in because it told me that I would have a downpayment of just over $500 and then $4 a month. The representative on the phone told me they are having issues with their upgrade system not showing down-payments correctly.

Just place my order about an hour ago. Moving over to T-Mobile from Sprint. Had a corporate deal through my company which got me free sim cards and $100 for each line we moved over. Placed order over the phone and it went smoothly, rep was good answered all questions. They are also going to pay off one of our lines that we still owed 8 months of payments on and are letting us keep that phone (I will then sell it). Got 3 iPhone 8s and 1 iPhone 8+. Looking forward to trying T-Mobile, was not happy with Sprint service of the last 2 years. Lots of coverage gaps and I am in a very populated area. Also even though I just called in got Sept 21/22 shipping date and overnight shipping was included free. Good experience with the order.

Why does T-Mobile get the shaft when it comes to unit allocation from Apple?

Also, why hasn't there been an Uncarrier move to make the T-Mobile systems fully compatible with Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program and their online ordering system, so that T-Mo customers aren't the only ones who HAVE to pick up their device in store if they're buying from Apple?

^^ I'd rather have that than "free" Netflix.

Wait a minute... so I won’t be able to have my pre-ordered iPhone X shipped to my house on release day? You’re saying I have to go in to the store to pick it up? I would be pretty pissed that I switched to T-mo if that’s the case. I try to stay as far away as possible from Apple stores on iPhone release dates.

If you're already on the IUP, you can get it shipped to your house. If you're signing up for the first time, you need to go to an Apple Store.

Nope not on IUP just using a fully paid iPhone 7+.... I guess I’m screwed then. I thought I could just get the phone full price, have it shipped to my house and pop in my sim from my 7+

I'll take a tired old design and bezels over the "other" phone Apple introduced. Too many "nopes" for me. And it was the smoothest pre-order yet! JOD iPhone 8 Silver 64gb coming in for launch.

Hey, at least my phone has four corners!?!? Steve Jobs once said "iPhones must have four corners". Ok, he didn't say that.

Went ahead and did the Sim-Free version about 5:30 this morning with no problems from Apple's website. 8+/256/Silver to be delivered next Friday. Wanted to make sure to get the dual CDMA/GSM version this time for better compatibility if I ever decide to leave T-Mobile.

does anyone know how the upgrade plan works? is it only for iPhone 8 and up or are they letting iPhone 7 in on this?

I for one don't think it is. The iPhone X is not ready to be my daily driver. They still have a lot to fix (which hopefully they will for next years) before it can be. If they fix them I'll be ready for next years iteration.

JOD insurance question. I'm new to JOD, which insurance plan is best suited for JOD?

1. $15/month premium including AppleCare

2. $12/month including AppleCare

3. $10/month not including AppleCare
